HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 85-1974 RESOLUTION NO. 85-74 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,STATE'OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING 1974 STATE CLEAN WATER BOND ISSUE BE IT RESOLVED by'the City 'Council of.the City of South San Francisco, California, that WHEREAS, the State of California now grants to local agencies up to twelve and one-half percent of the cost of construction of water quality management facilities; and WHEREAS, such grants, in conjunction with federal grants, greatly expedite financing the local share of project costs; and WHEREAS, funds for these grants will be exhausted by late 1974; and WHEREAS, Chapter 994, Statutes of 1973, authorizes presentation of a $250 million Clean Water Bond Issue to the voters on the June 1974 primary ballot; and WHEREAS, it is the interest and concern of San Mateo County that necessary sewerage facilities be constructed' within the cities and districts of the County: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, as follows: 1. That the $250 million Clean Water Bond IsSue merits the support of all organizations with a desire and/or responsibility to protect the waters of.the Bay Area, and that this Ci~ty Council hereby states its enthusiastic support for this issue. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a reqular meeting held on the 6th day of May 19 74 , by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A.
