2. Roll Call. Present: Councilmembers Addiego,
and Garbarino, Mayor Pro Tern Matsumoto and Mayor
Gonzalez.
Absent: None.

4. Public Comments — comments are limited to items on the Special Meeting

5, Resolution No. 98-2012 appointing registered South San Francisco voter and
resident Frank Risso as City Treasurer through Certification of the 2013
Municipal Election,
At a Special Meeting of December 10, 2012, Council directed staff to agendize the appointment
of Deputy City Treasurer Frank Risso, South San Francisco resident and registered voter, to the
position of City Treasurer due to the passing of City Treasurer Honorable Richard Battaglia.
Councilmember Addiego thanked Mr. Risso for his willingness to serve as City Treasurer. He
noted the importance for the community of an orderly transition and the need for consistency in
this position. He advised that fortunately, Treasurer Battaglia had selected the well qualified Mr.
Risso to serve as his Deputy, which ensured an effective transition. Councilman Addiego finiher
welcomed Mr. Risso to the position as part of Treasurer Battaglia's legacy to the City and what
Mr. Battaglia saw as the best course of action with respect to the position.
Councilmember Garbarino stated that he and Councilman Addiego served on the Budget
Subcommittee when Mr. Battaglia suggested Mr. Risso to serve as his Deputy. Mr. Battaglia had
total confidence in him as does the Council.
Motion— Councilman Addiego/Second— Councilman Garbarino: to approve Resolution No. 98-
2012. Unanimously approved by voice vote.
Mr. Risso took the Oath of Office as City Treasurer administered by City Clerk Martinelli.
6. Adjournment.
Being no further business, Mayor Gonzalez adjourned the meeting at 7.04 p.m.
