HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1917-07-02 REGULAR I~ETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD, MONDAY~ JULY' 2. 1917. This meeting was called to order at 8' o c~ock P.LI., by Trustee J.H. Eelley "President of the Board of Trustees". ~ Roll-call Roll call found the following Trustees, present, to wit; M.F. Healy, O.W. Holston, Geo. H. W~llace and J.H. Kelley. The minutes of the previous meeting were read ~nd approved. in application for an annual boxinF permit was received from J. Nonize. Upon motion of Trustee Wallace seconded by Trustee Hol~ton and regularl~ carried the permit was granted. A communication w~s received from ~oise Klinkner & Co. calling the attention of the Bo~ to Senate Bill #921 chapter 218 Section 22 which provides for signs on either side of each Railroad Crossing within the City. The City Clerk was instructed to write to C~. Automobile Association as to Cost for installing the required signs. Upon the solicitation of Thomas L. Hickey who appeared before the Board in behalf of the American Red Cross Society, it was moved bp Trustee He~ly seconded by Trustee Wallace that ~he sum of Five Hundred Dollzrs be donated by the City of South ~an Francisco, to be paid within one ~Jear. ~otion carried. ~reportre~°rtSof°ftheCitxi°ffi°er~~ ~Y ~' ~er fpr month endin~ June 30, 1917, were then read. ~ snowed the folI~wing balances. The report of the City Recorder showed that the sum of $116.00 hzd been collected through his office during the month of June for which he enclosed check. Motion caZried The fol~o~'i~g applications for Class A liquor licenses were received at this meeting. E.G. Burns, A.Baradat, Peter Regli, A. R~ttl and William Cox. ~ccompaning each Of the above applications was a bond in fzvor of the CitM of South S~n Fran~ in the penal s~m of One Thousand Dollars for the f~ithful compliance with ordinance $§9 by the applicant , and the applicants above named having complied in all respects with ~e prov- isions of the said ordinance they were granted permits for class~"A" liquor license for t~e term of Six months ending December 31, 1917, by the unanimous vote of all Trustees presen$. ~ ap~licatio~ of Jno. The following REsolution was then introduced by T~stee Holston. Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South S~n Francisco that s~id Board herby deck,res that it t~U~hao~ntention of s~id Board hereafter to refuse to issue a permit to any applicant for ~ license to sell liquor in the Baden Hotel in the City of South S~n Fran- cisco.
