The meeting wes called to order by G.W.Holston, President of the Board at 8 o'~cl0ck P.M. ROL~ CAL~. ' Roll call found all Trustees present, , to-wit:- F.A.bunningham, A.J.Eschelbach, L.G.Hzrdy, ~,., H. Scampini, G.W.Holston The minutes of the prey%cue meeting were read and upon n~otion of Trustee Cunnin~ham seconde by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried were approved. Peter Pal~ and Giovanni Venturi mere called before the Board to explain why they violated building restrictions. Mr. Pals , after explanation was excused. Mr. Venturi was requested to ~be at his building Friday, Sep't, lOth to ex~lain, at ~.O'clOck P.~. ' The reports of City officers M~rshsll C.C.Conrad and City Treasurer Kauffman were receives and accepted. A.L.Coffey, of the firm of Werner& Coffey, Architects, appeared before the Board and submitted plans and specifi~tion~ o~ a~ligSt~ng_sys$em ~or She~City Hall. After discussion the followim g resolution was n~ro~uce~ Dy Trustee uunn~ngnam;- A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ORDERING. THE FURNISHING OF T~E ELECTRICAL FIXTURES FOR THE CITY HALL. Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of~:South San Francisco that public interest ~n convenience require the work and material herein described, and the Board of Trustees of the City of South Esn Francisco hereby orders the following work to be done and material to be furnisheA in said City, to-wit:- The furnishing and installation of electrical fix.tures in the City ~all of said City. All work and materialh6reinprovided for sh~ll be furnished in accordance with the special plans and specifications for said material and work, which plans end'specifications are entitled "Plans and specifiaations for the furnishing and installation of electricol fixtures in the City Hall of the City of South San Francisco", which plams ~nd specifications are hereby ~dopted for doing said work and ere now on file in the office of the City Clerk, to which plans end specifi- cations reference is hereby made for a description of said material and work. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish for Two(E)weeks in the"EnteDrise~ a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in said City of South San Francisco, the following notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for said materi~l ~nd work: NOTISE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR FURNISHING ~ND I~T~Li~* ~ ~LECTni~ FIXTURE IN THE CITY HALL OF THE ~±TY OF SOUTH ~A~ ~'i~.~CISCO. Sealed ~roposals will be received by the Board of Trustees of the city of South San Francisc until eight o clock, P.M. Monday, the 27th day of sep't, 1920, for furnishing and installing electrical fixtures in the City Hell of the City of South San Francisco, in the county of S~n Mate State of Oalifornia. All material and work must be in~ strict compliance with the plans and specifications adopted by the Board of~rustees of the City of Sout~ S~n Fran$isco on the 8 th day of Sap:ti920 ~nd now on file in the office of the city Clerk. The Successful bidder shall, within ~ ' Ten (10) days, after the aWard,-~enter into a contract with tt~e City of S~uth Sen Francisco for the faithful performance of the Wo.rk to be done under said award. A copy of said plans and specifications may be examined in the office of Werner& Coffey, architects, Humboldt Bank Building, Ban Francisco, Cal. All proposals must be accompanied ~ with a certified check upon a solvent bank of the Sta~ of California, payable to the City of ~outh San Francisco, in an amount not less than ten(lC) cent of the aggregate of the bid, uppn ~h~ cgndi$ion Sha$ Sf the proposal be~accspted a d contrsct awarded, and if the bidder snal± sail ana negiecm ~o execume mne conmrac~ ana g~ve the bonds required, the summentioned in said check shall be liquidated damages for such failure and neglect, end shall be forfeited to and paid into the Treasury of the City of Bouth ~an Francis The bidder to whom is awarded a contract shall be required to execute a bond'for the  ithful performance of his work in ~n amount equal to(2~) twenty-five per cent of the amount of his undertaking, with st least two, (E) responsible sureties in the full amount of the bid each: and will also be require$,~efore entering upon the work, to furnish a good and sufficient bond as required by an set of the Legislature of the State of California,approved May the 10th, 1919, entitled "An act to secure ~he payment of the claims of persons employed by contrabtors upon public works,and the claims of persons who furnish materials, supplies, teams implements or machinery used or consumed by such contractors in the performance of such works, and prescribing 1 duties of certain public offficers wi~h reference thereto" and will also be required to exhibit to said Board of Trustees a policy of insurance showing tho~t said bidde~ is insured against loss through accident or negligence, in such a way as to satisfac$orily protect said City of South San Francisco under the provisions of the "Workman's Compensation, Insurance snd Safety Act of the State Of California", ' The Contract must be entered into in compliance with and subject to the condi$ions impgsed by Section BHSc of the Penal Code of the Stat6 of Csl4fornia. Sealed proposals or bids will be delivered to the City Clerk on or before 8 O'clock P.M. on Monday, the 27 th day of September ~ 19£0. All sealed proposals or bids WJ~ be opened by said Board of Trustees in pdblic session on Monday,the 2?th day of Septrmber,l$20,~8 O'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber of s~id Board. Ratti, stating he was about to sell his place of business 364 - - " and asked the Board to transfer his poolroom licens to &. Bildhauer. A communication was also received from A.Bildhauer stating he was about to purchase the business of ~.~tti and asaed the Board to grant the request of A.Ratti in the matter of the transfer , .7_ ..... ~'~ ', ~ Laid over till next meeting. Upon motion of Trustee Eschelbach seconded by Trustee Hardy the Bosrd adjourned to meet again Monday 5eptember the 20th, 1920 at alO Linden Ave. Time of adjournment, 9.40 P.M.
