All taken under consideration. John J. O'Connor made application for the position of caretaker and furnaceman for the City ~all when completed. Pava's application was endorsed by the American Legion and the South San Francisco Volunteer ~!ire Departmrnt, Mr. Pava having served withboth organizations. Panama pPscific Exp. Lodge $~ asked permission to hold an all night dance on Thanksgiving eve, Nov.the 24th., next. Permission gr~nted. Joseph G. Walker made application for the fire insurance on the New City dall. Application accepted and olsced on file . ~ne Pacific Gas ~ Electric Co. made application.for permission to lay an 8" pipe on the South side of ~wift Ave, ss shown on maps submitted with the application. On motion of Trusteee seconded by Trustee Scampini the desired permSssion was granted. The following resolution was introduced by Trustee Cunningham,;- Resolved by The Board of Trustees of the City Of Sou~h San Francisco that La-rson~ Sampson Co be paid the sum of Four Thousand Five Hundred ($4~00.00) dollars on account of their contract with the City of South ~n Francisco for the construction of the City Hall, pursuant to certificate of Warner & Coffey, Architects. Attest, Daniel ~cSweeney, City Clerk &ex-officio clerk .RESOLUTION OF AWARD° The following resolution was introduced by Trustee Hardy, Whereas the Board of Trustees of the ~ity Of South San Frahcisco did, in open session, on the 27th day of September, 1920, publicly open, ex~mine and declare all sealed pr oposals or bids forfurnishing the following material and work in said City, to-wit;- The furnishing and. installation of electrical fixtures in the City Hall of said City of South San Francisco. ill material and work must be in strict compliance with the requirements of the plans and specifications adopted by the Board of Trustees for doing ~aid work on the eight day of September,, 1920, and now on file in the office of the City Clerk. The successful bidder shell, within ten~(10) days after the award, enter into sn agreement with the ~ty of South ~n Francisco for the f~ithful performance of the work to be done under sai~ award. Resolved that said~o~rd of Trustees .hereby rejects all said ~roposals or bids except that next hereinafter mentioned, ~nd hereby awards the contract for doing ssid work and improvement to the lowest responsible bidder, to-wit;- Roberts ManufacturinE Co., a corporation, st the prices named in its bid, to-wit;, Two Thousand one Hundred and Twenty ($2120.00) dollars. The President of the Board of Trustees and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed in the name of the City of South San Francisco and under its corporste seal to enter into an agreement with s~id Roberts ~anufacturing Co., for doing said work. Trustee Sc~mpini introduced the following resolution;- Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees if the City of South San Frahcisco that the President of its Board of Trustees and its City Clark be, ~nd then hereby are, authorized, empowered and directed for and on its behalf, in its name and under its corporate seal, to enter into and execute wiyh the Pacific Gas &Efectric Co,a corporation, that certain agreement which relates tothe permission given by said company to said City to use poles of said company in said City for the purpose of ~aintaining the latter's fire alarm wires and appliances ~nd which h~s been submitted by said company at this meeting of this Board of Trustees. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the ~hard of Trustees ct the City of South San Francisco this 4th day of October, 1920, by the fo]lowing vote;- Ayes, Trustees, F.A.Cunningham, L.G.Hardy Jr., H. The following resolution was introduced by Trustee ~ardy;- Resolved by the Board of TruStees of the City of South San Francisco that the City Attorney be, and he hereby is authorized and directed in the name of s~id City of South San Francisco, to bring an ~ction in the Justice's Court, of First Township, County of S~n M~teo, State of California, against S.B.~cLenegan and Cutler McLenegan,for damages in the amount of seventy-five dollsrs, ($7~.00) on account of the destruction of the drinking fountain of~said City of South San Francisco, at the corner of Linden avenue and Grand Avenue, by the automobile truck of said S.B.McLenegan served withboth organizations. The Fire ~arshal reported one grass fire on September 2~rd with no damage. City ~arshal Conrad reported ~ arrests 2 accidents with ~J00.O0 d~mages, 5 arrests for the S.F. $ olice and ~ arrests for the Sheriff of Santa Clara. City Recorder Dowd reported fines of 85 for the month and attached check for the same.
