Regularly adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees ogthe ~ity of ~outh ~an ~ranoisco,
held Monday, May 29th, 1922.
The meeting was called to order at ?.30 o'clock p.m. by Trustee G,W.HolSton, President of'
the Board.

Roll call found the following Trustees present, to-wit;-

The minutes of the previous meeting were'read and upon motion of Trustee Hardy seconded

A communication was received from the Peninsular Bureau of Chambers of ~ommerce thanking
the Board"for its offer to support the-publicity campaign now under way, and stating that
information regarding the amounts other municipalities were to subscribe would be sent the Board as
soon as available. A cOmmunication from the same Bureau~invited the Board to be present at the Fourth
of July celebration at the Speedway, San 0arloS, July Fourth. Communications ordered filed.
A communication was received from Louis Bartlett, President of the League of ~aliYornia
Municipalities, asking the City to send representatives to the Conference of City 0ffiolals of
Northern California to be held in Stockton on Saturday, June 3rd,192E for t~e ~purpose of considering,
lst~ Proposition to submit all publicly owned utilities to regulation by ~:~lroad commission;
2.- Proposition to submit all publicly owned utilities to taxation. 3.- Proposition to take the
granting of franchises out of the hands of the municipalities and place the power in the hands of the
railroad commission. The communication .was ordered filed. ~2~j
A communication was received from the Peninsular Development Association inviting member~
of the Board, their legal adsisors or engineers to be present at the San Francisco Board of
Supervisors' romm in the San~rancisco City Hall Saturday, June 3rd. 1922, at 10 a.m. to discuss o.
plans, etc for for the development of the San~rancisco-San Marco Peninsular. Pre~ent/Holston
invited any of the city officials mentioned to attend. Trustees Hardy and Soampini: volunteered to
represent the city.at the meeting.
RESOLUTION.
RESOLUTION VACATING RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO.4§.
The following resolution was introduced by Trustee Cunningham;-
Whereas notices of improvement have not been poste~ upon the open streets of the district
described in resolution of intention No. 4~, passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City
of South San Francisco on the 15th da~ of May, 1922, and less than Ten [10) days now remain until the
5th day of June 19E2, the date set in said resolution of intention No. 4B for hearing of objections :-
to the street work therein described;
Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the Oity of South San ~ranoisoo that said resolution
of intention No.45 be, and the same hereby is vacated and set aside.

adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco this 29th day of May, 1922. by

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD O~ TRUSTEES O~ THE CITY O~ SOUTH SAN ~RAN$ISCO
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE CEAPMAN AVENUE, A PORTION O~ RANDOLPH AVENUE,
A PORTION OF GREEN AVENUE AND CARDINER AVENUE.
The following resolution was &ntroduoed by Trustee Hardy;-
Whereas public interest and convenience require that the work hereinafter described
should be done; and
Whereas, in the opinion of the Board of Trustee of the City of South San l~rancisco said
contemplated work and improvement is, and is hereby declared to be of more than local or ordinary
Public benefit;
Now, therefore, resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South ~an Francisco'.
that it is the intention of said Board to order the following work and improvements to be done in
said City,to-wit:
Section A.
That the following streets and avenues mentioned in this section be improved
by grading between the existing curbs of each of said streets and by. constructing on both sides of
each of said streets cement concrete gutters of the dimensions and at the locations shown upon the
plans and specifications hereinafter referred to and by paving each of said streets between the edges
of such gutters with an saphaltic concrete pavement One and 0ne-half [1~) inches in thickness laid
on a cement aoncrete base ~our ~4) inches in thickness$
Randolph Avenue from a line drawn from the point of the intersection of the northerly
line of lot numbered One ~1~ with the northeasterly line of said lot in block lettered "T",as shown
upon the map hereinafter mentioned, across Randolph Avenue at right angles with the center line
thereof,to the line separati~ lots numbered Five [5) and Six (~ in block lettered "A",produced'~'
southerly across ~andolph Avenue, as shown upon the map hereinafter mentioned; 0hapman Avenue from
the southerly line of Randolph Avenue to the northwesterly line of San Bruno Road; Green Avenue from
the northerly line of 0hapman Avenue to the southerly line of Randolph Avenue, Gardiner Avenue from
the-eemthe~-~ae-e~- southeasterly line of Braden Avenue to the northwesterly line of San Bruno Road.
Section B.
Also that portion of ~andolph Avenue from the line separating said lots
numbered Five [~) and Six ~6) in block lettered "A", produced southerly across said Randolph Avenue,
as shown upon the map hereinafter mentioned, to the northwesterly line of, San Bruno Road be improved
by gra~ing for the full width thereof, and by constructing therein on each side of the portion .of
Randolph Avenue in this section described a cement concrete sidewalk and combination cement concrete
curb and gutter of the dimensions and at the locations shown upon the plans and specifications
referred to; and by paving said portion of Randolph Avenue in this section described between the
edges of such gutters with an asphaltic concrete pavement One and i:I One;half ~1~) inches in
thickness laid upon a cement concrete base Four ~A) inches in thickness;

DEOLARING ITS INTENTION TO IM2ROVE OEA2~ AVENUE, A PORTION OF RANDOLPH AVENUE,
A PORTION OF GREEN AVENUE AND GARDINER AVENUE.
The following resolution was &ntroduced by Trustee ~ardy;-

and the po~loms of Ohapman Avenue and Green Avenue described in section A of this resolution to the
number o~ o~-such lateral ~ewer for each lot or parcel of land fronting upon each of said streets
· or avenues, as said lots or parcels of land are shown on said plans; wherever lateral sewers are to '
constructed to.corner lots, such lateral sewers shall be constructed from the 'main sewer opposite to
the shorter side of each of such corner lots.
The map hereinbefore referred to is that certain map entitled "Map of-~eok's Subdivision i
South San Francisco, San Marco Ce. Cal.",which map was f~led .in the office of the 0ounty Recorder of
0ounty of San Mateo, California, June 24,1907, in Book 5 Of 0ri~inal Maps at page 11.
Ail work herein provided.for shall be done to the~official grade and in accordance with t
special plans and specifications for said work, which plans and specifications are entitled "Plans a
· specifications for the construction of improvement work on Chapman Avenue,Randolph Avenue, Green Ave
· and Gardiner Avenue in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Marco, State of Oali,~ornia, wh
streets and Avenues are fully shown upon.the plans hereto attached,which plans are made a~part hereo
which plans ans specifications were heretofore adopted.by said Board of Trusteel on the 15th day of
1922, and are now on file in the office of the City Olerk, and to which plans and specifications
reference is hereby made for a further description of said work and for the location and extent of
work to be done hereunder and for a particular description of the boundaries of the district herein
mentioned. Ail such.work is to include any and all street intersections and~ street terminations and
~opposite terminations of,in and to all the above mentioned streets and those to respective lines abc
mentioned,as is more particularlyshown upon said plans. Any duplication in any of the work hereinbe
described shall be ignored. There is excepted, however, from the above mentioned work any and all su
'work as has been already done to official grade.
And said Board of Trustees does hereby determine and declare that said purposed work and
improvement is of more than local, or ordinary public benefit and will affect and benefit the lands a
district hereinafter described, which said district is hereby declared to be the district benefited
said work and improvement and thattherefore the ehtire costs and expenses of said work and improvem
shall be and are hereby made chargeable against and shall beassessed upon said lands and district,
except as hereinafter expressly provided,which district is within said City of South San Yraneisoo,
County of San Mateo,State of California. and particularly bounded and desorib'ed as follows, to-wit:

Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments, and bear inter~
at the rate of Seven ~7) per cent per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided in the
"Improvement Bond Act of 1915" and the amendments thereto, the last installment of whilh bonds shall
mature Nine (9) years from the second day of July next succeeding Nine (9) months from their date.
"The Enterprise", a weekly newspaper printed and circulated in the City of South San Fraz
is hereby designated as the newspaper in which .this resolution of intention shall be published,and ~

The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of s~
contemplated work or improvement,at not more than Three Hundred (300$ feet in distance apart,and ale
the open streets within said district and in front of all the property liable to be assessed at not
' than Three Hundred ~300) feet in distance apart, but not less then Three {3) in all in each street ~
district,notices of the passage of this resolution of intention,in the manner and form required by
"Improvement Act of 1911",and the amendments thereto.
Notice is hereby given that Monday,the 19th day of June, 1922, at the hour of ?.~0 o'olo~
in the $hamber of sai~ Board of Trustees of the City of South San ~raneisoo, any and all persons ha~
any objections to the proposed work and improvement may appear before said Board of Trustees and sh~
cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursua~
of an Act of the Legislature of the State of galifornia, designated as the "Improvement Act of 1911'
approved April 7,1911, and the amendments thereto.
