Roll call found the following Trustees presentto-wit, · .A,0unningham, LAG,Hardy JR.,and G.W.Holston. Absent, Trustees,, A.J.Eschelbach and H.Soampini. The reading of the minutes of the previQus was dispensed with. · An application was received from the .Service Garage asking for perIission to install a gasoline sto~age ta~k under the sidewalk in front of lot ~16, .block 148, the same to con~ain approximately 420 gallons.. Moved by Trustee 0mmningham seconded by Trustee Hardy that permission be granted provided that the prowisions of the 0ity Grdinance be lived up to. 0arried. The Pacific 2elephone and Telegraph 0ompaay petitioned the Board forpermission ~to excavate Walker Avenue, approIimately $50' west .of Allerton Avenue, for the purpose of installing a 1" iron pipe across from north to south, .adjacent to .the railroad .right-of-way. Permission granted,with instructions to the 01erk to notify the company of a deposit of 50 .cents per square foot required under the City 0rdinanoe. 0itizens Andy Hynding and Edward Kau~fman addressed the Board with reference to securing' the extension of the new proposed lighting system out 0ypress Avenue from ~rand Avenue to Lux Avenue, on the west side. The matter was referred to the 0ity engineer with ~nstructions to include the t~ro' additional blocks in his specifications, l~esident HoIston asked if there were any persons. pres'ent who had any object'ions to offer against theproposed ordinance establishing residence, business and industrial districts in the 0ity of SoUth~San'~rancisco. ' There being none' the following resolution was introduced by Trustee 0umningham;- RESOLUTION 0~ THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF T~r~, 0ITY OF SOUTH SAN ~RANOIS00 SETTING FORTH FINAL REPORT OF SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF A PLAN FOR DIVIDING THE 0ITY OF SOUTH SAN ~RANCISC0 INT0 RESIDENCE, BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL DISTRIOTS. Whereas the Board of Trustees of the Oity of South San ~rancisoo did, on the~Sth day of June, 1922. make and file their tentative report wherein said Board of Trustees did recommend a plan for the division of She'~.saidOity of South San ~rancisco into residence, business and industrial.,' districts and did propose appropriate regulations and ~estrictions to be enforced therein; and ,Whereas said Board of Trustees did, on said 5th day of June, 1922, appoint Friday,the 9th day'of June,1922 at the hour of ? o'clock.p.m, and the $Ouncil,0hamber of said Board of Trustees in the 0ity Hall in the City of South San Francisco, 0ounty of San Mateo, State of Oali~ornia, as the time and place when and where all persons particularly interested and the general public would be given an oppor- tunity to be heard with reference to the recommendations of said Board of Trustees for the division of said 0ity into residence,, business and industrial districts or zones;; and Whereas~p,l~rsuan~ to the order of this Board of Trustees, the 0ity 01erk of said 0ity cause~ to be duly published, in the manner and form~required by law. in "The Enterprise", a newspaper of genera$ circulation published once each week in said City Sf So&uth San Francisco. on the 8th day of June,19B2. a notice specifying the time and place of said hearing, as aforesaid,there being no daily newspaper published in said municipali~ry, and ·hereas said matter has been d~ly considered by said Board of Trustees. and no one has offered any objections to the plans proposed in said tentative'report; Resolved by said Board of Trustees of the 0ity of South San ~ranciseo that. as and for its final report of a plan for the division of~said city into residence, business and industrial districts and of appropriate regulations and restrictions to be enforced therein,said Board of Trustees hereby recommends the adoption of an ordinance in form as follows;- DRDINANCE N0. ~ AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RESIDENO~i BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL DISTRIOTB OR ZONES IN TEE CXTY 0~ SOUTH SAN ~RANCISO0. The Board of Trustees of the 01$y of soui~h San ~ranoisco do ordain as follows; Section 1. Ail the territory of the City of South San Francisco lying north of Railroad Avenue, prolonged to the westerly boundary line of said city, and westerly from the following line; commencing at the intersection of the center line of Railroad Avenue with the center line of Linden Avenue; thence at ~tght angles northerly along the center line of Linden Avenue to the center line og 0ommercial Avenue; thence at right angles easterly along the center line of 0ommerolal Avenue produced easterly to the center line of 0ypress Avenue; thence northerly along the center line of 0ypress Avenue to the center line of Baden Avenue; thence easterly along the center line of Baden Avenue t~ the easterly line of San Bruno Road; thence northerly along the easterly line of San Bruno Road to the north boundary line of said Oity of South San Francisco, except the portion of said territory which is described in section 2 of this o~dinance, is hereby determined and ,declared to be a residenc~ district. Section 2. There is hereby excepted from the land described in section 1 of this ordinance the land described as follows; Beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the center line of Pine Avenue with the center line of 0ypress Avenue,as shown upon that certain map entitle~"South San Francisco, San Marco 0o., 0al. It is hereby declared to be unlawful for. any person; firm or.corporation to erect establish, conduct or maintain in the residence district of said City of'South San Francisco any asp plant.tannery, glue factory, soap factory, rolling mill.foundr~ reduction works, fire works factory. stone crushing plant.wood yard.lumber yard. warehouse, sheet me%al works. Junk yard. brick yard. cann glass factory, carriage factory, automobile factory, cooperage, flour mill.rice mill. iron works.wit mill.pipe works.blaoksmithshop, machine shop.planing mill. ice plant.oil and gasoline service stati. battery station.public laundry.wash house, car~et beating establishment,pickle works.vinegar works. still.bakery, macaroni factory.or any factory or works where power of any kind is used in the operat the same.undertaking establishment.fUneral parlor, dyeing or cleaning establishment, butcher shop. market, grocery, delicatessan store.'fruit store, shoe store, shoe repair shop. clothing store, drug store, candy store, ice cream parlor, or other store where merchandise of any kind is sold or barter bicycle shop. restaurant, hotel, pool room.barber shop. plumbing shop.or public garage. Section 5. It is hereby declared to be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erec establish, maintain or conduct in the business district described in section 2 of this ordinance any asphalt plant.tannery, glue factory, soap factory, rolling mill. foundry.reduction works, fire works factory, stone crushing plant, wood yard. lumber yard.warehouse, sheet metal works. Junk yard. brick yard. camnery.glass factory, carriage factory, automobile factory.cooperage, flour mill.rice mill. iron works.wire mill. pipe works, blacksmith shop.machine shop. planing mill..oil and gasoline servi, station.battery station, public laundry, wash house, carpet beating establishment.pickle works, vine works, still, bakery, macaroni factory, or any factory or works where ~ power of any kind is used in the operation of the same.or engage in any manufacturing other than manufacturing clearly inciden to a retail business permitted by this ordinance to be conducted in said business district. Section 6. The provisions of this ordinance shall not apply to any factory, works or business herein classified, which, at the time of the passage of this ordinance.sha~l have been lawfully esta' ed within the limits of said 0ity of South San Francisco. Section 7. Every person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance be ~uilty cf a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Thr. Hundred ~001 Dollars or by imprAsonment for a period of not more than Ninety ~90) daya.or by both s~ fine and imprisonment, and each such person, firm or corporation shall be guilty of a separate off~n~ for every day during any portion of which any violation of this ordinance is committed or continued by such person, firm or corporation, and shall be punished as provided in this ordinance. Section 8. This ordinance shall be published once in"~he Enterprise" aweekly newspaper published and circulated in said City o~ South San ~rancisco, and shall take effect and be in force from and after the e~piration of Thirty ~50 I days after the date of its passage.
