Roll call found the following Trustees present, to-wit;- F.A.Ounningham, H.Soampini, G.W.Holston. Absent, Trustees, A.J.Eschelbach, L.G.Hardy Jr. Trustee Hardy appeared after roll call. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. A communication w~s received from the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce calling attention to the proposed separation of the Southern Pacific and 0entral Pacific Railroad lines, stating that trade, agricultural, manufacturing and public organizations throughout the State of California are passing resolutions opposing the separation of the roads and asking the City of South San Francisco to lend its support in keeping the roads a unit for the good of the general public. The clerk was instructed to reply to the communication and state that th&s city would co-operate in behalf of the present system wherever necesea~yo A petition was received from The Daisy Club of San Francisco asking for a ~ermit to hold a dance at Fraternal, Saturday evening, July 22, next, to last from $ o'clock p.m. until 2 a.m. Permission was granted to hold the dance, the same to last from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. Bernard McOaffrey Post ~$§, American Legion. petitioned the Board for permission to hold a dan on Saturday evening. July first. Granted. The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company sent a communication acknowledging receipt of permission toinstall a 1" iron pipe across Walker Avenue West of Allerton Avenue,and enclosed check for $1§.00 as a deposit required by ordinance. The State Railroad 0ommission replied to the City's letter inquiring the amount of the gross operating revenues of the South San Francisco Railroad and Power Se.during the the past year. The letter stated the revenues amounted to $40,889.§8 for the year ending December 31st, 1921. The clerk was instructed to write the Market Street Railroad Company and inquire if any mistake had been made by their accountant in submitting their figures showing the gross operating revenues. · .J.Martin. General Manager of the South San Francisco Land & Improvement Company acknowledged the City's letter relative to thec cleaning of sidewalks and said the matter would receive attention. Batiste Rodondi appeared before the Board representing residents of the west en& of the City, and made inquiries as to the Board's action in the matter of sidewalks and sewers required in that section. It was agreed that sidewalks would be built at as early a date as possible. As to sewers in the district leading to the old Mission Road the Board stated the City Engineer would be asked to go over the ground' and advise as to the possibility of securing sewers without too great an expense. An application for a soft drinkm license was received from John Aselio for the Shipyard Restaurant. Referred to the City Marshal. Pool room licenses were granted to Angelo Genovesio,Silas Carlson and C.T.Oonnolly by the following vote;- Ayes, Trustees, F.A. Ounningham, L.G.Hardy Jr..H.Scampini, G.W.Holston. Noes, Trustees,None. Absent, Trustees, A.J.Eschelbach. Applications for soft drink licenses were received from Juniper Avenue Grocery store, Ralph Ambrose,Andrew 0strum, Richard E.Setter, Castmer 0hristen,H.Yglesios, John Brusa, John Christie, Ernest Galli, John Venturi, T.McManus Pete Pala. Enrico Ghilardi, A.Locatelli, Angelo Genovesi,,Richard Harder, Marsilio Blandini, J.V.Ron, Louis Bart~lli, John Colombo, Thomas Silver, Silas Carlson,and Duane S.Wright and granted by the following vote;- Ayes, F.A. Trustee Cunningham introduced the following resolution;- No. 47. RESOLUTION ADOPTIN~ PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that the plans and specifications for the improvement of Grand Avenue from the center line of Division Street to the westerly line of Walnut Avenue, Linden Avenue from the southerly line of Commercial Avenue to the northerly line of Miller Avenue,San Bruno Road from the northerly line of Grand Avenue to the southerly line of Lux, Avenue, Cypress Avenue from the northerly line of Grand Avenue to the southerly line of Oalifornia and Miller Avenue from the westerly line of Linden Avenue to the easterly line of Cypress Avenue as pre- pared by the City Engineer of said City of South San Francisco and submitted this 26th day of June,1922~, be and the same hereby are adopted as and for the plans and specifications for doing said work. A RESOLUTION 0P THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES 0P THE CITY 0P SOUTH SAN FRANCISCo DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE PORTIONSOF GRAND AVENUE,LINDEN AVENUE., SAN BRUNO ROAD, CYPRESS AVENUE AND MILLER AVENUE The following resolution was introduced by Trustee Hardy;- Whereas public interest and convenience require that the work hereinafter described shoul¢ be done; and Whereas, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco said templated work and improvement is, and is hereby declared to be of more than local or ordinary publi< benefit; Now, therefore, resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that is the intention of said Board to order the following work and improvement to be done in said city, That Grand Avenue from the center line of Division Street to the westerly line of Walnut Linden Avenue from the southerly line of Commercial Avenue to the northerly line of Miller Avenue, Bruno Road from the northerly line of Grand Avenue to the southerly line of Lux Avenue, Cypress Avenl from the northerly line of Grand Avenue to the southerly line of California Avenue and Miller Avenue from the westerly line of Linden Avenue to the easterly line of Cypress Avenue be improved by furnis] and installing thereon and therein Sixty-five(65) steel reinforced,cement ~oncrete single lamp electroliers at the places indicated on the plans hereinafter mentioned, complete with globes, socks' lamps, cut-out openings, cut-outs, and copper wires, said electroliers to be fastened with wrought bolts and cement concrete bases having- galvanize~ conduit ells; and also by laying therein, under galvanized iron conduits and eight (8) cast iron Junction boxes and insulated copper wires with Six circuits all as shown upon said plans, and by connecting said electroliers and lamps and said circuit to a central terminal box.to be located at the northeasterly corner of Miller Avenue and Linden Aven~ as more particularly shown upon said plans.
