Dated October 9th,19gg. G.W.Holston President of the Board of Trust~ of the City of South San Franci: We, the undersigned,members of the Board of Trustees of the City of South 'Francisco, hereby acknowledge receipt of a copy of the foregoing call and notice of a special meetint of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco. The meeting was called to ordsr at ?;Z0 o'clock p.m. by G.~.Holston, President of ti Board. There were present the following ~rustees,to-wit;- F.L.Cunningham, A.g.Eschelbach, L.G.Hardy Jr.,H. Scampini, G.W.Holston. Absent, Trustees, None. The reading of the minutes of the erevious meeting was dispensed wi~h. The folloring resolution was introduced by. Trustee Cunningham;- #50. RES0~UTION ORDERING THE GRADING OF THE CIVIC CENT~ SITE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FP~CI~C0. Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that public interest and convenience rwquire the work herein described, and the Board of Trustees of the ~ity o: South San Francisco hereby orders the following work to be done in said city, to-wit; The grading of the Civic Center Site of the City of South San Francisco. All work herein trovided for shall be done to official grade and in accordance wi' the special plans ~nd specifications for said work, which plans and specifications are entitled. "P: and specifications for grading the Civic ~enter Site of the City of South San Francisco", which pla] and specifications are hereby adopted for doing said work and are now on file in the office of the ( Clerk, to which plans and specifications ~eference is hereby made for a description of said work. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish for Two (£) weeks in "The Enterpris< a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in said City of South San Francisco, the following notice inviting sealad proposals or bids for said improvement work in the City of South Sann Francisco; NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROP02ALS FOR GRADING THE CtUIC CENTER SITE II~J THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. Sealed proposals will be received by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Fran( until 10;00 O'clock a.m. on Monday, the 3oth day of October, 1922, for doing the following work in City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California: The grading of the C~vic Center site. All material and all work must be in strict compliance with the plans and specifications adopted by the Board of Trustees on the 9th day of October, 1922, and now~on file in the office of City Clerk. The successful bidder shall, within ten (10) days sfter the~award, enter into a contr~ with the City of South San F~'ancisco for the faithful performance of the work, to be done under sai~ award. all proposals must be accompanied with a certified check upon a solvent bank of the Stat, of California, payable to the City og South San Francisco, in an amount not less than ten Il0) per of the aggregate of the bid, upon the condition that if the proposals be accepted and the contract awarded, and if the bidder shall fail and neglect to execute the contract and give the bonds eequir~ the sum mentioned in said check shall be liquidated damages for such failure and neglect, and shall forfeited to and paid into the Treasury of the City of South San Francisco. The bidder to whom is awarded a contract will be required to execute a bond for the fai' performance of his work in an amount equal to ~venty-five L(25) per cent of the amo~mt of his undert~ with at least Two (2) responsible sureties in the full amount of the bid each;'and will also be r~ before entering upon the work, to furnish a good and sufficient bond as require~ b~ an act of the LemisL~ture of the State of California, approved May 10th, 1919, entitled "An act o secure the cla~ mahatma±men mechanics or laborers employed by contractors upon State m~micipal or other public w( and will also be required to exhibit to said Bo~d of Trustees a policy of insurance showing that bidder is insured against loss through accident or negligence, in such a way as to'satisfactorily p~ tect said City of South San Francisco under the provisions of the "Workmen's Compensation, Insuranc~ Safety Act of the State of California". The contract must be entered into in compliance with a~d subject to the conditionss imposed by sections 65~c of the Penal Code of the State of'California.
