The meeting was called to erda',' at l0 o'clock A.I',!. by Trustee G.W.Holston, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the follou:ing Trustees present, to-wit;- Trustees, F.~..Cm~ningham, L.O.Hardy Jr., G.¥.Holston. Absent, Trustees H.lcampini and A.J.Eschelbach. Trustees ~campini and Eschelbach appeared after roll call. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. Judge E.E.Cunningham a~peared before the Board and ~sked permis~ion to cut down some tr~es on ~aple Avenue and the alley where he is about to construct a new apartment building. On L~otion of ~ Trustee F.A.Cunningham seconded by Trustee Eschelbach -~ermission was granted. Engineer Classon was instructed to repair breaks in the streets in, Peck's lots and various~ other sections of the <~ity where required. Fire Chief Truax: reT~r+e~ a large hole in the road near the Fontana ~ate. The street comm.ittee was instructe~ to have ?epairs made. Lights were reported needed on Baden Avenue Between Orange and Eucalyptus Avenues ana one at Maple and Pine Terrace. The street Committee ~as instructed to order the lights placed as required.,~ This being the date:set for the o~ening of bids for the e::csvation of the 8ivic Center Site Trustee Ctmningham moved that the bids be opened. The motion was seconded by Trustee Hardy and regularly' carried. The San Francisco Motor DrayaGe Company appending the lowest responsible bidder Trustee Cunningham introduced the fo]lowing resolution of award;- Whereas the Board of Truste s of the City of South San Francisco did, in open session,on the Z0th da~ of October, 1922,pubiicly open,examine and declare all sea,ed l~r~posa].s or bids for doing the followin~ work in said City, to-wit; The grading of the Civic Center Site in the City of South San Francisco, Ail work herein provided for shall be done to official grade and in accordance with the special' ~lans and specifications for said work adopted by said Board of Trustees on the 9th day of 0ctober,!922 and n6w on file in the office of the City Clerk. The successful bidder shall, within ~en contract v:ith said City of ?outh San Francisco for the faithful performance said a'.var d. .~leso!ved that said Board of ~rus*~ees hereby rejec~,,:, ~ all said.proposals or bids except that.next hereinafter ,mentioned, and hereby awards the contract fo:.' doing said '~vork and improvement to the lowest responsible bidder,to-wit; San Francisco ~f. otor Drayage Companj.~t the .~rice named in its bid, to-wit; ~h~'ty-n~ne and 0ne-half (Z9~,~)cents l,er cubic yard of cutting. The ~resident of the Board ~e,~s and the Cit~ Clerk are hereby authorized and directed in the na~e of the City o£ fouth San Francisco and trader its cot?orate seal to enter into an agreemezft with said San Francisco ~,lotor Drayage Company for doing said work. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco this Z0th day of October, 1922,by the following vote;- Ayes, Trustees F.A.Cunningham, A.J.Esche]bach, L.G.Hardy Jr.,H.£csmpini, O.W.Holston.
