HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1922-12-04 Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San. Francisco held Monday, December 4th,1922. The meeting was called to order by Trustee G.W.Holston, President of the Board, at ?;Z0 o'clo P.M. Roll Call. Roll call found the following Trustees present, to-wit;- ~.A.Cn~ingham, A.J.Eschelbach, H.Scampini and G.W.Holston. The minutes ~f the previous meetingwere read and upon motion of Trustee Cummingham.seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried were approved~as read. Silvio Nieri appeared before *he Board amd asked permission te remove a tree in front of his proposed new place of business. Permission was granted on condition that the tree stump be removed belo' the sidewalk level.~ · A communication was received from the city TruStees of Daly 'City thanking the City of South San Francisco for the ~use of its fire bell during the construction of their~Fire Alarm System. Accepted and ordered placed on file. ~ ~/~ The Pacific Gas and Electric Company submitted a list of rates on 31 all night ~nd 31 midn Electroliers now being insta~ed by the City. The Clerk~was instructed to keep the' list,-on file fo~ future reference.~ ~ ~, . ~ The Pacific ~ar & Equipment Company filed a protest with the Board against the present ~ ~'~ssessment of their property, stating tha~ the present assessment is .too high, T~e first installmeSt~of ~axes accompanied the Protest. The~Clerk was instructed to advise the Company that the Board w~u~look .'i~to the matter. · -~ - t~ The ~ontana Food Products Company filed a protest with the Board against the. assessment o~ %'.their buildings,~ Claiming the same were not actually in their possession on March let of the year, and not until the following May. The Board dizected the Clerk to advise the Company to Day their taxes 'in full and would at the next meeting take the matter up for further, consideration. Application was made by Lorenzo Camariano, for permission to construct a private garage qn the rear of lots 20 and 21, in Block 13~, facing the alley, between Linden And Cypress Avenues. Perm~ granted. A petition was received from Eaton & Smith. asking for an extension of 60 days time in which to complete their contrac~sin Peck's Subdivimioa and School and01ive Streets. Action deferred until the arrival of the City Attorney. A petition was received from James C,Wallace asking permission to change the fronts of stores lo4 and 106 Grand Aven~e, the present fronts to be replaced by plate glass windows, Permission granted. The repor*s of the City Health Officer, Electrical Inspector, City Marshal, Fi~e Chief. City Recorder and Cit~ Clerk for the month of November were next read. The City Recorder's report showed collections of. $126 for the month while the City Clerk's report showed the following balances in the various funds, General fund. $19,417.37, Library fund. $2,666.20, Sinking fund for sewers,S1,488.93 ~Factory District Sewer fund. $719.82, 1919 Bonds, $3,740.0~, Anti-tubercular fund, $62.48, Street fund '~-~Series "~"~ $70.~8, Series, "~"% $46.14, Series "C", $183.86, Series "D", $~?.74, Series "E", $23.~0, S~ries, F , $219.96, Series G ,$254.65. Total balance in all funds, $30,22~.75. ' Moved by Trustee Scampini seconded by Trustee Eschelbach that the =eportabe accepted as read Carried. The following resolution was introduced by T'rus~ee Cn~ingham. Whereas L.G.Hardy Jr., has resigned from membership in the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco and the resignation of said L.G.Hardy Jr., was duly accep$ed by said Board of Trustees on the 2oth day of November, 1522, to be and ' become effective on the first day of December 1922; Re~olved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco ,~hat J.W.Pitt be, and he hereby is appointed a member of the Board of Trustees of the 0ity of South San Francisco for and during the period ending on the Third Monday of Aoril, 1924, I hereby certify tha~ the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by · he Board of Trustees of the City og South San Francisco at a regular meeting of said 'Beard of Trustee held o~ the 4th day of December, 1922, by the following vote,- Ayes, Trustees F.A.Cunningham, A.J.Eschelbach, H.
