The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco was held in the City Hall, Monday July 16th,1925. The meeting was called to order at 7;50 o'clock p.m. by Trustee G.W.Holston, President of the Board. ROZ~ CAZL Roll call found the following Trustees present, to-wit; Trustees, F.A.Cunningham ,J.W.Pitt, G.W.Holston. Absent, Trustees, A,J,Eschelbach, H.Scampini. Trustees Eschelbach and Scampini appea~ed after roll call. The minutes of the previous meeting wereread and upon motion by Trustee C~uningham seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carrieA were approved as read. A communication was received from Manager Adams of the Pacific Tel & Tel Co in answer to the City's letter requesting the removal of certain poles in the ally back of 625 Miller Avenue, stating he had referred the request to the proper Department who would take immediate action. Communication ordered filed. City Marshal Conrad made written request for the annual vacation of two weeks, the same to begin the fore part of August. Granted. Richard E.Setter made application for a soft drink license for his location #250 Grand Avenue. On motion of Trustee Cunningham the application was granted by the following Ayes, Trustees, F.A.C~uingham, A.J.Eschelbach, J.W.Pitt. H.Scampini, G.W.Holston, Noes, Trustees, None. Absent, Trustees, None, City Recorder J.G.Walker submitted his report for the period ending June J0th. The report showed collections of $1117. On motion of Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee Eschelbach the report was accepted as read. Fi~e Chief Truax appeared before the Board and stated that two bad holes on the San Bruno Road, one at California Avehue and another at Chapman Avenue were in need of repair. He stated that the trouble was caused by the breaking away of the work done by the Spring Valley Water. The Clerk was instructeA to communicate with the Spring Valley Co. and requeat that repairs be made as soon as, possible. The Pacific Gas & Electric Co, having failed to keep its agreement with the city in the matter of regulating the height of its poles and painting the same, the clerk was instructed to commu~lic~ with the Company and request that they take action at their first opportunity. N0.52 RESOLUTION 0EDERING WORK AND CLOSING UP HIGH STREET. The following resolution was introduced by Trustee Pitt;- Whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of South San ~rancisco did. on the 16th day of April.1928. pass a resolution declaring its intention to order the following street work to be done insaid city. to-wit: T~at High Street, for the full length thereof, as shown upon that certain Map entitled "Map of High School Park Adddition, South San Francisco", which map was filed in the office of the ~County Recorder of the County of San Mateo. California, May 17,1~17. in Book 10 of Maps at pages and 16, be vacated and closed up in whole, and did in said resolution declaYs that no ~and is necessary to be taken therefor, and did in said resolution specify the exterior boundaries of the district of lands to be affected and benefited by said work and to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses thereof, to which said resolution of intention now on file in said matter reference is hereby made for further particulars and the same is made a part hereof; and Whereas the street superintendent of said City o~ South San Francisco did thereupon cause notice of the passage of said resolution to be posted and published in the m~er and form require~ by law and by said resolution of intention, reference being hereby made for further particulars to the affidavit of George A.Kneese. said street superintendent, and to the affidavit of Robert Speed, which affidavits are now on file in said matter in the office of the clerk of said Board of Trustees and are made a part hereof;.and Whereas no written objections or protests against said proposed work have at any time been filed with or received by the clerk of said Board of Trustees at any time subsequent to the publication of the said notice hereinbefore mentioned, and more than ten Il0) days having elapsed after the expiration of the time of publication of said notice of the passage of said resolution; and Whereas the proposed work is for the closing up of High Street, for the full length thereof.as herein before dessrtbed; and Whereas said Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco has determined and does hereby determine that no assessment is necessary for the doing ~f said proposed work, and that no damsge will result by the closing up of High Street, as hereinbefore described; Now. therefore.said Board of Trustees orders that the following street work be done in said city . to-wit; That High Street. for the full length thereof, as shown upon that certain map entitled "Map of High School Park Addition, South San Francisco". which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San Mateo, CaYifornia. May 17.1917 in Book l0 of Maps at pages l~ and be vacated and cYosod up in whole. And be it resolved that said High Street. as hereinbefore described, be, and the same hereby is vacated, discontinued, abandoned and closed up. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees of~the City og South San Francisco ~at~ a~regular meeting held this 16th day of July, 192Z, by the following vote;- Ayes, Trustees, F.A.Cunningham. The follo~ing resolution was introduced by Trustee Eschelbac~;- Whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco, a municipal corporation in the County of San Mateo, State of California, did, on the 16th day of April, 1923, pass a resolu tion declaring its intention to order the following work to be done in said 5ity, to-wit; That High Street, for the full length thereof, as shown upon that certain map entitled "Map of High School Park Addition, South San Francisco,, which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San Mateo, CalifOrnia, May 17,1917, in Book 10 of Maps at pages 15 and 16, be vacated and closed up in whole, to which said resolution of intention now on file in said matter reference is hereby made for further particulars and the same is made a part hereof; and Whereas the Street Superintendent of said City of South San ~'rancisco did thereupon cause notice of the passage of said resolution to be posted and published in the manner and form required by law and by said resolution of intention, reference being hereby made for further particulars to the affidavit of George A.Kneese, said Street Superintendent, and to the affidavit of Robert Speed, which affidavits are now on file in said matter in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Scut San Francisco, and are made a part hereof; and Whereas no written objections or protests against said proposed work, or against any portio thereof, were at any time filed with or received by the Clerk of said Board of Trustees or this Boar of Trustees at any time subsequent to the publication of said notices hereinbefore mentioned; and Whereas, after more than ten (10) days had elapsed after the expiration of the time of publication of said notice, said Board of Trustees did, on the 16th day of July, 1923, pass a resolu wherein High Street, as shown upon that certain map entitled "Map of High School Park Addition, Scut San Francisco", which map was _ filed in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San Mateo, State of California, May 17,1917, in Book 10 of Maps at~pa~s 15 and 16, was vacated,disconti abandoned and closed up, to which resolution reference is hereb~d the same is made a part hereof; Therefore resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that the President of said Board of Trustees and the City Clerk be, and they hereby are authorized, empowered and directed in behalf of said City of South San Francisco, to execute and deliver to South San Fran Land and Improvement, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Californi a quitclaim deed of all the right, title and interest of the City of South San Francisco in and to the portion of High Street hereinbefore described. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco at the regular meeting held this 16th day of Ju 1923, by the following vote; Ayes, Trustees, F.A.Cunningham, A.J.Eschelbach, J.~.Pitt, H.Scampini, G.W.Holston.
