A regularly adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco was held in the City Hall Fr&day evening, August 28th,192~. _ The meeting was called to order at ?:30 p.m. by ~rustee H.F.I,icNellis, President of the Board. ~ ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following trustees present;- to-wit;- ~r~stees Bl~nk,Cunningham,.~sCaffrey,McNellis. Absent, A.J.Eschelbach. rustee E~chelbac~ appeared after r011 call. The minutes of the previou~ meeting ~ere read ~.nd there being no errors or omissions were approved asread. An application for the position of city fireman was received £rom Joe Bernardo. Letters o£ recomr~endation for Joe ern~rdo for ~he position of 'fireman were received from ~he South San Francisco Fire Depart~en~ and Thomas Galli, Foreman of the Fire Department. Om motion by Trustee McCaffrey, seconded by Trustee Blank and regularly carried Joe Bern~rdo was m~pointed a regular fireman. The clerk was instructed to write the Pacific Gas & Electric Co and request that a light be placed on Chestnut Ave. at the water tank. The question of the dum~ situation was brought to the atLention of the Zrustees by the President o~ the board. Na~m~'J.O'Connor, President of the Board of Trustees of San Bruno, together with Trustee aalter of said city appeared, before the board by invitation and conferred with the city trustees on the question of. acquiring a joint d ~umping ground. After considerable discussion ii was decided to a~-,point a committee from South San ~rancisco~ to w~it upon the Board of Trustees of San Bruno at a regulzr meeting and attempt to solve the question. The bill of the Sanitary sew~· company was given consideration and ~fter deliberation the ~ty decided to pay half the clsim and instructed the clerk to write the school board to th~s effect. An invitation was received from the City of Long Beach requestin~ as many of the city of£icials ~s can ~£fored the ti~e to atLend the Convention of California ~unicipalit~es in September. No action taken. The following ~laims a~ainst the city were next oresented for pa~nent;- Pete M.Petroff ~epairing manholes, etc ~.90 Appliance Service Co ~arden Hose 824.00 " " " Siren & Osskets 894.000 Total $15S.90 The claims having been arproved by the finance committee trustee Blsnk moved they be r, aid. The motion was seconded by trustee Cunningham ~nd regularly carried. There being no further business before the board trustee Eschelbach moved to adjourn.
