The meeting was called to order st 7;50 o'clock ~>.m. by Trus~tee H.F.McNellis, President of the Board. Roll call found ail trustees pr~sent except Trustee ~sche]bach, who ap';~ared after roil call. The minutes of the previous meeting were read, and there %ein,r no errors or omissions were a' 5roved as re~8. _~ ' ' ~ -, for a certified .~ communication wa~' -~ceivad from t~,~e ~outhern Pacific Company as~:zng the c_t~ cory off a resolution Fussed recently [,ertaining 't.o an agreement between the city and company relative the crossing of the compaN~,'s tracks at the foot of Orange Avenue and Railroad Avenue and Third Street. The clerk was instructed to prepare the co~y and foruard the same. A co~ication was received fro:u L.Hudson of the Western Neat Company, complaining of the Con8 ion of ~Rift Avenue, and stating that a hole in said street caused an accident to hi~ machine, that he expected the city to pay the damage. The clerk was instructed to replb' and'sZate that the cit~ is not responsible and referring him to the Pacifice Gas & Electric Company. W.~.Fuller Company made a~p!ication for a permit to construct s ~75,000.00 building of concrete on their pre~ ises. Permit granted. Sam Reid,Baden Avenue near Ack, cia, requested the city to require contractor Cushing to remove certain stumps on lot north west corner of Acacia and Baden Avenues. The clerk was instructed to notii'> City Engineer to attend to the matter. A communication from Architect Rorberg requested the city to appoint a ~o~ittee to atten~ meeting of the Uniform Building Code Convention of California at Burlingame, Wednesday, February lVth, 1926 Building Inspector Lewis and C~ty Attorney Sc~p~ni were sppointedto attend. ]~!r. G.Carl Waller, Vice Principal of the South tan Francisco High School made application for a contribution to place a city ad in the Iris, school history book. Action deferred to a later mee An ap~ication~ ~ w~ s received from Emilio Vo]onte for. s ~.~r~",it. ., to con[trust a '~3000, home on lot 9, block i, High School Park. ~ermit granted. A~,,p~ca'[ions for soft dri k icenses were received from A ~D~ani, ~ B1E:'~dini, Viette & That J~ J.Jenni~-~s, John Venturi, and Tine Retch, The permits · ere granted by the following vote;- Ayes, Trustees, Blank. Cunnl. n~rhan, Escholbach, ~,IcCaffray, McNe!lis, Noes, Tr~.stttes, None, Absent, Trustee~, None. The reports of th8 School Nurse, Fire Chief, and City Clerk ~;;ere next read. On'.motion by trusts Blank, seconded by Trustee ~cC~:ffrey ~.,nd reguTarly carried the reports were accepted as read. Trustee Fred Cunninghan reported that there are riot sufficient hydrants in :iigh School ~:a~ and request~d that attention be given the matter.. Accordingly President M.Ne]lis appointed Fire Chief Truax and 'Engineer Bob Klassen to, locate Nosit~ons _. f~::r hydrants and report to the city at the Next regular meeting: of the board. In the matter of the city dumping ground President Lc~el]m~ a~ointed FrusteeS Fred Cunnin~rham and H~Fh ~.cCafmrey as a committee to confer with the South San ~anci~co Land ~ompany with reg~d possible lease for the ground, etc. Mr. 8choen~er~er of the estern P~_}'~e and Steel Compkny appeared l~efor,' the boarO-..~,-~ that ~he ma~ter of road construction in their vicinity be given s,~,~~ attention by the Board i,{oved by Trustee Eschelbach, seconded by Trustee NcCaffrey that the city engineer be instructe to ~nstitute ~roceedings~ ~58 for the improvemen~ of the sane. ACstQitN Engineer Bob K!as?en re¥',orted that his office ha~ formed an estimate of the cost of ~mkin grade, of tdrange Avenue Between Third Street and Railroad Avenue. He repo~ted the cost would be approx tmately ~3000.00. He was requested to ~roceed with proceedings ~5~ to complete the work, and according advertise fo~ bids. In the matter of the proposed purchase by the city of the South San ~'rancisco Water Company the following committee was appointed,:* Trustees McCaf~rey, C,~ninghan, and Blank and City Engineer Geo.A.~eese and City Attorney A.J.oc ~ ~"ym~ini, with instructions to ~rive .... the ~:mtter their attention.
