The meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock p.m. by Trustee F.A.Cunningham, President o Board. ROLZ CALL. Roll call found the following trustees present, to-wit,- Trustees, Lloyd, Tibbette and Cunningham, Absent, Trustees, Eschelbach and Minu~ciani. Tru Eschelbach and Ninucciani appeared after roll call. A communicatLon was received from the South San Francisco Taxpayers Association offering th good.will,co-operation and support of the association to the Honorable Board of Trustees of the Ci of South San Francisco, and ~lso to all other civic bodies in the advancement of the city's intere and welfare. The board accepted the letter in the spirit in which it was written, and requested t clerk to reply expressing t~e appreciation of the board, A communication~w~,s receive~i from the South San Francisco Chamber of C~mmerce requesting th a donation~ of $200 be made by the city toward the expense of constructing a typographical map of San Francisco and the Peninsula region, No action taken. The G,,rdon Rowe Company wrote in reply to the city's letter pertaining to their bill of $1~ for auditing the city books from July 1st to December 31,1926, ~,tating the original charge of $366 for auditing the books from July lst,1928 to June ~0th,1926. ~aid over for investigation. A communication was received, from the Federal Electric Company of $~n Francisco re~iuesting permission 'to erect a sign at 258 Grand Avenue. The clerk was instructed to reply granting the Bos permission on condition the installation is made under eL~isti~g erdinances. The Societa Lombarda applied for ,~ermission to ho~d a dance in Fraternal Hall on Saturday e March Bth,1927. Permit granted. Repre~enta~.ive Coffoy of the G~mewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company appeared before the boar in referenoe to the extension of the local system. He stated many new bo×es and other equipment we needed, and ~he estimated c~st would be approximately $4000. Referred to the Fire Committee for investigation. Representative J.0,Snyder of the South S~n Francisco ~ter Company addressed the board with reference to the installation of additional hydrants for the city's fire defense system. After~a s of location ~y tile Board of Trustees an addition of twelve double-hydrants was ordered installed s the points selected. It was agrsed by the board that the cost of the hydrants and the installati s~Lould be borne by the city, ~t an esti~at~d cost of approxim~tely $52 ezch, Representatives of ~he Mack and La France fire truck companies appeared before the board an explained the merits of their different types of machines, conditions of sale. etc. The m~tter ws finally referred back to the committee on purchase. Chief of Police Belloni reported he had engaged Thomas Doak Jr as a deputy Marshal for ape two weeks on smallpox cases. The board s~nctioned the appointment for the time specified. The chi also requeste~ the cancellation of the appointments deputies Lintot and Cameron, ~'tationed at the Pacific Coast Steel Company's plant, stating they had left the city. On motion regularly carried ~ board ordered the ai!~pointments cancelled. An application for ~ soft drink license uas received from Louie Cavalli, 311 San Bruno Road and rejected. Trustee Minucciani stated he believed Cav~lli is as much entitled to a license as o~ and President Cunningham agreed that the City Marshal should investigate the applicant and repor~ ~he next meeting. The propssed amendment to t~e Laundry license ordinance to include dry cleaning, wholess, le ~retail next came up for discussion and was laid over. Trustee Tibbetts moved they be pai~ The motion was seconded by Trustee Einucciani and regularly carried. There being no further business before the board Trustee Tibbetts moved %1o adjourn.
