The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the 't~ C1 o, of South San Francisco was held in the City Hall Lionday evening, June 20th,1927' The meeting mas called to order at 7,Z0 o'clock p.m by trustee A.J.Eschelbach, President of the Board. ,.,O.~,L 6ALL. Roll call found the following trustees present, to-wit;- Trustees Eschelbach, Lloyd, 1,iinucciani, Tobbetts. Absent, Trustees, none. The minutes of the previous meetin:~j u'ere read, a~d there being no errors or o~qissions ~¢ere approved as read. A comm~mication of acknowledb~ent was received from !,lrz~. Annie Cunningham thanking the members of the city government for floral vacant chair ~'ent for the £uneral of her late husband, the Honorable President. o£ this Bo~:rd of Trustees ~..t his death, lay 26th lasS. Oo~.~'mication placed on file. Eotification '~;.as received from Fred J.Lautze that there are two very bad holes in the pavement in-front of his place of business, Z15 San Br~mo Road, and asking that repairs be made as soon as practicable. Referred to the streez ~ommittee, and the clerk instructed to write the Sprin7 Valley Water ~ompany asking what steps they intend to take in the. matter of repairing breaks over their pipe line in the city stree~ts. Request was ~ade by 3rank Robinson for a sofz drink license gratis on account of being an honorably discharged soldier of the, U.S.Army. Request granted. Alexander Welte, 560 Baden. Avenue made application for the position'. of City Hall Jani.tor or gardener in the Civic Center when such a position n~ight be created by the Board of Trustees. Con~unication ordered filed. :. ~ L communication was received by President Eschelbach from'attorney W.Seward Scott asking : that ~, co:nmiRtee be a~pointed to attend the State Railroad 'Commission hearing .on proposed Lncrease in Telephone rates to be held in San -Francisco Tuesday June 21st,this month. City attorney was aypointe~ to attend the session to ?retest against the proi-osed increase. A co~nunication was received from D.H.Thompson, ['.ecretary of ~he Ohamher of Commerce, relating to the State Highway' 5or~nission's request that the City of South San Francisco s~id in securing rights of way for the in,mediate ~:-idening of San Bruno Road. i~residenl Eschelbach stated the city would lend its ~:~,oral support to the project v~ay. This being the date set for the opening of bids for street paving and sewer constructl, on un,er proceedings No.58 trustee ]Lloyd moved that the bids be oi~.ened. Report accepted. Judge l~cGrath of San L~ateo appeared befo~re the. board and requested a committee be sent before Board of Supervisors on July 5th to protest against the sr~nting of a bridge franchise to Carey & Co candlestick p~int. Llso advocated a commi~_tee should be sent to the board of supervisors July llth t¢ advocate the granting of a bridge franchise for the route from Coyote P~int to Hayward. President Eschelbach assured the Judge action in the matter would be taken~up at the next meeting of the board. Edward Ringue and Steve Fischer as~ a_ commit-~ee froP. the Derby Club requested the Board of to begin work on the diamond in the ba~'eball grounds a~ soon a~ po~,ible as many invitations to ball had been received from outside clubs. They were assure~, the city would prepare the diamond at earliest pOSs~ible moment.
