The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Cit.,, of South San Francisco was held in tile City Hall Monday evening~ , July 18th,19gT. The meeting7 v.'as calle~~ to order at 7;SO O'clock p.m. by Trustee A.J.Eschelbach, President the Bosrd. TT ZOLL Roll call found the following trustees present, to-v,,it:- Trustees, A.J.Eschelbach, A.Hynding, R.Lloyd, M.~inucciani. Absent, Trustee R,Tibbet~.s. Trustee Tibbetts appeared after roll call. The minutes of the two previous meetings were r~ad, and there being no errors or omi~sions were' a!:,proved as read. Application was made by Pedro Escalante for permission to rma ~ tent Vaudeville and acrobatJ show at the conner of California and San Bruno Road. Permission denied. The Rosebud club of South San Francisco applied for vermission to hold a dance in Fraternal Saturday evening, August 6th,1927. Permission granted. Thomas H.Allen, glO Laurel Avenue, made application for the position of Policeman or Fireman when a vacancy occurs. Application placed on file. - The Pacific Gas & Electric Company applied for permission to install new cable from manhole on Swift Avenue at Industrial b'ay to the first pole east of Industrial Way, and from manhole on =ran~ Avenue at San Bruno Road to the second pole south of Grand Avenue on San Bruno Road. Referred to th( City Engineer. The gas and light company also requested permission to set new poles in certain districts, shown by blue print. Referred t~ the street committee. Letters were received by President Eschelbach from the State Fire ~Iarshal and the Insurance Federation of California urging the city to send the fire M[rshal to the various Firemen's Conventio~ ~o be held ~n Portland, Oregon in August. The board decided the fire chief is too busy breaking in the new fire apparatus and men to spare the time this year, and tt.e clerk was requested to reply to cor~nunications stating the circumstances. Joseph Laib applied for permission to ere~:t a vertical channel letter sign on the Branch of Italy. Referred to the Buildings' Inspector. A~plications for soft ~'rink licenses were received from GeorL~e Acosta and ~he Mil~brae Dairy. Licenses grante6. Trustee Hynding introduced a resolution de:~loring the '~-timely pa~'sing of the late Sheriff T.~.5[cGovern and extending the sym-,athy of the com~.unity to the family of 'the deceased Bherifi in th( hour of bereavement. The resolution was ado-~:ted by the un~,nimous vote of the Members of the Boar~. Recor, ed in Rook el' Resolutions, Volume,~, at page 15S.
