FE~CISC0,~LD THURSDAY, DEC~ER 2qmw 1927 75O A regularly, adjourned meeting of the city council of the City of touth San Francisco was held in the city hall Thursday evening, December 29th,1927. This meeting was called to order at 7:50 o'clock p.m. by Councilman A]J.Eschelbach, ~[ayor of South San Francisco. Roll Call. Roll call found all members of the council present,to-wit;- Councilr~en A.Hynding,R.Lloyd,M.Minucciani,E.Tibbetts and A.j.Eschelbach. The minu~es of the previous meeting were read. There being no errora or omissions Councilman Lloyd moved they be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by Councilman Minucciani and regularly carried. Tippecanoe Tribe ~lll, I.O.R.~. applied for permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall, Saturday evening, January 18th,19~8, the same to continue until I A.M. Permission granted, A communication was received from the Derby Club asking permission to hold dances in ~,ietropol~ iran Hall .on the evenings of January 7th and January the ~dth,19Ed, the dancing to continue until ~ a.m. Permission granted, with the understanding that ?ro~er police protection be provided, at the expense of the club. A resolution was introduced by CoUncilman Hynding, awarding the bid for furnishing the~city with~ gallon Multi-stage Centri£ugal Pump, to the Soagrave Corporation for the sum of ~Zg~0.O0. The resolutiC was adopted by the unanimous vote of the members of the Council, to-wit; Ayes, Councilmen, A.Hynding, R.Lloyd, E.Minucciani,R.Tibbetts, A.J.~schelbach. Councilman Hynding, having been instructed by the council to secure a suitable site for the erection of t~e proposed new fire house in the industrial district, introduced a resolution accepting the o££er of the South San Francisco'Lan~ & Imp. Co of a piece of land .~8 hundredths of an acre on Swift Avenue, for the sum of ~lgEO, initial payment ~SO0 on adoption of the resolution. The plans and ' s?ecifications having the approval of the City Co~mcil,Councilnan Tibbetts introduce~ a resolution directing the publication of notice to bidders fc.r the construction of a fire house in the district' mentioned, providin~ for inviting sealed proposals and setting the date for receiving bids as January ~5rd, 19S8, at 7;50 o'clock ~..m. Chief of Police Louis Bellonereported requiring the services of two additional special p61ice ~ officer~for a period of 15 days, and named Clyde Emerson and ~artin Thompson for the servive. On motion by Councilman Lloyd seconded by Cmmcilman Hynding and regularly carried the a!~pointments were approve~ approved, with salary s~ipulated at i!5.00 ~er diem. The clerk was instructed to secure ~ata concerning earthquake provisions in insurance y~olicies on the city hall buildings, etc. Also as to bonds of city employees, and ~State Compansation Insurance. ~ayor ~schelbach reported' the bid of Sulger & Co., for varnishing and Oiling in the city hall was in excess of ~00, and th.~refora would not be entertained. The matter of paving Grand Avenue Extension was called to the attention of the Council. City attorney Coleberd was instructed to begin proceedings i~ conjunction with the city engineer for the paving of this street.
