The regular meeting of tke City Council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the City Hall ~' '? ~,onaay evening, ~..farch 19th,1928. The meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock p.m. by Councilman A.J.Eschelbach,Mayor of South San,Francisco. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following members of 1he council present, to-wit;- Councilmen,R.Lloyd, ~i.Minucciani, R.Tibbetts, A.J.Eschelbach. Absent, Councilman A.Hynding. Councilman Hynding appeared after roll call. The minutes of the previo'~,s meetin,? v:ere read. There being no errors or omissions they were approved as read. A conm:unication was received from the Fraternal Hall Liquidation conm~ittee request~.u~ permissio~ to hold a parade in this city Svmday, April 15th, a dance in the eveninj and the running of concessio~ handled by local partiea .for ~the benefit of Fraternal Hall. Permission granted. A building ?ermit to construct a dwelling on [~:ortions of lots 1,2,and Z, block 1ZO, was applied for by C.De Tomasi. Permit granted under the supervision of the Building Inspector. A comn:muic~.tion was received from the Derby Club requesting the city to place the ball grounds in good condition for the summer baseball games. The clerk was instructed to a-~nswer and inquire as to what further improvements were desired, and the matter would be attended to by Chairman Tibbetts of the grounds co~3nittee. The L.H.Edwards Company made a request for a larcer water main to take the '~:lace of the present small one running in the Butler Road. Referred to the fire cor~m~iltee. Notice was received from the Seagrave Corporation stating the pumping tmit and accessories for the city's 5ombination ~hemical Engine and Ho'~e Car had arrived and would be ready for installation in a short time. The clerk was instructed to acknowledge th:. receipt of the letter and state the city is raady for lhe i~:stallation. A commm~ication was received from Guy J.i~:oney, Principal of the High School, inviting the city ofi'icials and the general public to visit the schools during Public School Week, Al:rtl 25 to 27, and abserve tLe work of tke school teachers in educating tke school children. The clerk was instructed to reply, thanking Principal Roney for the invitation. The application of John Dilles for a sof~. drink license to be located at 309 Grand Avenue was referred to the police comnittee. Fire Chief Costa recommended tha.iaI't*en:[nc'h water ..... Councilman iqynding announced that a system of flower beds should be installed in tho ~ivic Centez grounds. The matter was refer'~-ed to Councilman Tibbetts.
