This meeting was called to order at ?;30 o'clock p.m. by councilman A.J.Eschelbach, Mayor of South San Francisco. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following members of the council present, to-wit;- Councilmen, E,Lloyd, M.Minucoiani, R.Tibbette, A.J.Eschelbach. Absent, Councilman, A.~ynding. · The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors or omizsions Councilman Tibbetts movsd~they be,adopted as read. The motion was seconded by Councilman Minucciani and regularly carried. A communication was received, from the City of San Bruno, inviting the city counCilmen to ,.~. attend a Joint meeting of citixens of San Bruno, and Lomita Park with a .yiew to creating a sanitary district for this section of the township. M~yor Eschelbach appointed the entire council and city engineer as a committee, and requested all to attend if possible, Thursday evening, May 31st. A communication was received from the City of San Mateo. through City Manager Weissgerber, requesting the city council o~ representatives to attend a meeting in the San M~teo City .Hall, Monday evening, May 2Sth to take p~rt in the discussion of the Pacific Coast Building Ordinance. known as the "Uniform Building Code". As this date is a meeting date of the city council of the City of South San Francisco, Mayor Eschelbach stated he had requested the city building ins?ector to attend the meeting. Jules Ferre, $210 Olive Avenue, made application for the position of truck driver-firem~n in the new fire house when opened. Application placed on file. The Otto E.Reichardt Farms~:made application for a fire alarm box to be located on their ranch installation to be at the expense of the company. Request granted, with the proviso that the installation be made Under the supervision of Engineer Degan. The Market Srette Railroad Company submitted its yearly statement showing ~he amount of $46~. 69 due the city on its franchise under ordinances ~'s66 and 85, and asked for approveval. Th~ clerk was instructed to communicate with the company stating the city accepted the statemen~ ~d approving the same/ ' ,A~pplication for a soft drin~ license was reCeived from Philip Treglia, for the location *. S,P.Hotel, $~4 Grand Avenue. Referred to the police commission. A resolution adopting plans, profiles and specifications f~r ,the improvementmof portions of Grand Avenue, Chestnut Avenue, Commercial Avenue, Eucalyptus &venue, Orange Avenue, Railroad Avenue, ~nd the portion of the alley between Grand Avenue and Baden Avenue, from Acacia to Orange, the portio~ of the alley between Miller Avenue and Grand Avenue from Spruce Avenue-to Walnut Avenue, was. introduced by Councilman T~bbetts and adopted by the following vote;- Ayes, Councilmen,R.Lloyd, M.Minucciani, R.Tibbetts, A.J,Eschelbach. . Councilman Lloyd reported the police commission had advised turning in the old motorcycle for a new one. The price of a new machine $~30 and the amoun~ allowed on the old $1O0~The purchasing committe~ was instructed to made the trade. The ~ameing'of the alleys was postponed until the.next meeting. City Engineer Knees reported. action on the draimage system is devoloping rapidly. No action taken on the garbage ordi~anee, concrete stairs for the civic center and re-zoning, it being understood'these matters will be taken up at the next meeting. The clerk was instructed to communicate with the Market Street Railroad Company and request.. that repairs be made between their tracks in Grand Avenue Extension. ~trs. Elizabeth Ottenfield was appointed an assistant in the clerk's officeby the city counci~ The following claims against the city were next presented for payments- district for this section of the township.
