A regularl2 .adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco was held in th City Hall Monday evening, July 9th,1928. This meeting was called to order at ?:30 p.m. by Councilm~.n A.J.E~chelb~ch, ~ayor of Sc San Francisco. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following members of the council present, to-wit;- Councilmen, A.Hynding, M.Minucciani, R.Tibbe~ts, A.J.Eschelbach. Absent, Councilman, R.Lloyd. · The minutes of the previous moeting were read. There being no errors or omissions ¢ounci~ Tibbetts moved they be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by Councilman Minucciani ~nd regu~ aarried. A communication was received from the South S~n Francisco Union Stockyards Company reques permission to rock, oil ana roll a section o~ Swift Avenue ~rom the present paved line of Swift to the trees in front of the old Veranda Hotel. 2ermission granted. A.Mirani, ~19 Linden Avenue made application for permission to erect a g~soline and oil in front of his place of business. T~ken under advisement until ~he next meeting to enable the fi chief to investigate conditions in the vicinity. A reply was received from the Southern Pacific ~ompany in response to the city's letter ing the company to clean u~ their frontage in South San Francisco of old cans and other debris, si they are willing to make the improvement but need further time. Communication ordered filed. The monthly reports of the ~ealth 0fficer,~ City Treasurer and City ~lerk for the month June were submitted and approved by the council. The protest hearing continued fro~ July End against the improvements under Resolution was next taken up. ~ayor Eschelb~ch stated most of the protestants had withdrawn their objections to the work, ~nd none appearing, to protest against the same, Oouncilman Tibbetts introduced a res~ overruling the protests. The resolution w~s ~dopted by the unanimous vote of ~ll the councilmen present, to-wit;- Ayes, Councilmen, A.Hynding, M.Minucciani, R.Tibbetts, A.J.Eschelbach. Noes, Councilm~n, None. Councilman i~iinucciani then introduced a resolution ordering the work done. The resoluti¢ was adopted by the unanimous vote of all the members of the council present, to-wit;- Ayes, Councilmen, A.Hynding, M.lm,'li~mucciani, R.Tibbetts, A.J.Eschelb~ch. Noes, Councilmen, None. After discus'sion th~ was instructed to write the League of C~..lifornia Municipalities and inquire what cities of the els South San Francisco are doing in the matter of carrying insurance on fire trucks.
