The minutes of the previous meeting u:ere reed. Th~re beina~ no errors or omissions Councilman Tibbe~ts moved they be adopte~] as read. The motion v:8~' ~.econded by Councilman i~Pinucciani and regula~ carried. A communication was r~-,ceiw~d from L.5errgr, o asking for ~ refund of ~5.01 acco~t of error in Gr~nted. A.co~nunication w:_~' received from Ellen Oarmody statin.~ ~he had t:;.e w~eds removers, from in fro~ of her property, the south we~'t corner of Linden and Pine Avem~s. Referred to the Buildin~ Inspect~ S.Suarez, Z04 Olive :~venue, made application for the ret~ned of $.80 pal8 for ~he cleaning weeds which he explained he cleaned himself. Referred lo the,buildir~g Ir.??ector, I~Iichelle Brignardello made e. request for the ret~n of ~l.00 for weed cleanir~g ia: i'ron% of his property lots 16 and 17, block 76. Referred to t?:e building Inspector. Building Inspector Brawn declared the charge is legal end just, and the claim w~s disallowed. The Veteran's '~elfare Board, having taken over.the ~roperty lot 8, block 8,High School Park, asked the council to cancel the taxes upon the ~.ame. Referred to City Attorney Coleberd for opinion. City Clerk Recorded in Book of Ordinances, Vol.~ at pa~e 18~. :,~ite lights were requested to be ylaced at Pine Terrace and Park~.ay, as soon as convenient, It was stated by the council white lights would be installed as soon as available. A communication was receiwad from the Grower's Rice llilling Company, stating a road way was promised them 1£ years ago when the~ourc~ased to property, the road to lead from the mills to Swift %venue, and would like to have th,~ sam~ paved now. The City Council was advised by the City Attorney and Engineer that the present road is a private one, which the city has no control over or deed to. The city clerk was instructed to write the company stating the city is willing to meet with the company's officials and l~nd owners with a view to solving the problem. Co~.mcil~an Lloyd suggeted the improvement of Swift Aveuue by resurfacing and widening. Citv Engi~ Robert Elassen was instructed to make a study of ihe project and re?crt b~ck to the oouncil.
