The regular meeting of the city Council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the
Hall ~onday evening, '~anuary 20th,1930.
The meeting was called to order at 7;30 O'clock p.m. by councilman A.J.Eschelhach, ~,~ayor of
South San

Roll call found all members of the council present, to-wit;-
Councilmen, A.Hynding, R.Lloyd, iq. Tibbetts,E.l~inucciani,A.J. Eschelbach.
The minutes of the three previous meetings were read. There being no errors or omissions
Councilman Tibbetts moved they be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by councilman'Lloyd and :
arly carried.
A request for a refund of weed tax in the su~. of ~l~.00, the first ~alf of which ha~ alread;
been paid, w~s ~ade by the So~th 3an Francisco Land ~nd I~provement for work performed by the comp~
on Co~erb~al Ave~'~e. On ~otion by councilman Lloyd seconded by councilman Tibbetts and regularly c~

The Italian American Athletic Club requested permission to hold dances in ~,~etropolitan Hall
Sunday:afternoons, January £6th,February 2,9,16th and ~5,1950. Permission granted.
A commvmication was received from Otto Phillips, Laurel & Grand Avenues, re¢~.~esting the citl
to co~m~.ica~,e with the United Railroads of San Fra~ncisco with a view to having a sidewalk construc
from the Eission Road to Liepsic Station for the ~e~ efit and safety of persons having to walk to
car line. The clerk was i~structed to write the railroad company asking for the imorovement.
Request was made by },~iss Teresa ~,,:orazzini for a position on the election board April 14th,1
Com~,'unication ordered placed on file.
The 8it'y of San Francisco wrote in answer to th~s city's communication that they have no ob
to t~e San Bruno Road being named"Bayshore Boulevard", provided that the elimination of heavy traff
on that road, connected by the name "Boulevard" be not construed.
The St'ate Highway Oomn'ission, the City of ;an Bruno and the %ovita Park Development Associ
answered the city's letter, and favored the change to "Bayshore Boulevard".
The City of San Jose stated that as the ro8. o. ¢ioes not yet reach that territory they are no
to act upon tke suggestioz~ of the City of South San Fraucisco.

Road to "Bayshore Houlevard" was received, read and ord=red placed on file,
An application for the position of Fire Chi,~,f uas received from Al. ~¢elte. Application ord
placed on file.
The report of the school nurse for the month ending Dacember' 5l was received and placed on
O.E.Archibald, ho~se mover,appeared before the city council ~'ith reference to the moving o
Central Hotel to Lu% Avenue. I~r. Archibald ,tated he !rtended to build a court between the Oxford
t~e site ~:roposed to be occupied by the Central Hotel. The council decided to overlook the pr3posit
before allowing the work to proceed.

Councilman ~inucciani introduced awarding th contract to improvwe Linden Avenue under
PJesolution of Intention V65, to the loudest Bidder, The Fay Construction Company at their figure of
v~.08£.?0 The resolution was adopted by the unanimo~s vote of all the councilmen, to-wit;-

Cliams in the amount of $249.21 were next presented for payment. The finance committee
having approved the claims councilman Hyndin~ moved the~? be paid. The motion was seconded by counci
