HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1930-08-04REGUL~R ~EETING 0F THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, HELD MONDAY, AUGUST 4, 1930, The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francimco was held in the City Hall Monday evening August 4, 19~0. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 o'clock p. m. by Councilman J. P. Quinlan, Mayor ef South San Francisco. In the absence of the City Clerk Councilm~n Lloyd acted as clerk pro tern. Roll Call Roll call found the following members of the council present, to-wit: Councilmen, R. Lloyd, R. Tibbetts,V. Boido, J' P. Quinlan. Absent, Councilman M. Minucciani The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting waS dispensed with. An application was received from The Prest-O-Lite Co. for permission to install a 280 gal. gasoline storage tank andpump for their use on their property at Linden and Railroad Avenues. Referred to Fire Chief Welte. An application was received from E. Bonalanza for permission to move his soft drink business from the northwest corner of Cypress & Grand Avenues to the southeast corner of Cypress & Grand Avenues, also t° remodel the new place of business. Permission Granted. . An appliction was received from John J. Lopez for position of truck driver in the Fire Department. Application ordered filed. Circo Modelo requested permission to hold a Spanish Tent Show on August 7, 8 and 9th, 1930. Permission granted. The Union Espinola of California requested permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall, September 6, 193.0, until I o'clock a.m. Permission granted. The Mexican Patriotic Committee requested permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall, August 30, 1930 until 12 P.'M. Permission granted. A communication w~s received from the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph cO, requesting the cancelation of their $600.00 which was dated August 16, 1928 guaranteeing the restoration of pavement over trenches on'Division Street, Swift Avenue and Bayshore Highway. Referred to Attorney Coleberd. Monl~ly reports Trom Chief of Police,~ire Chief, Building Inspector and Treasurer for the month ending July J1, 1930 were submitted to the Council, accepted and order- ed filed. On motion of Councilman Boido seconded by Councilman Tibbetts the soft drink license of Gene Lombardi was granted. Tbs order fixing the time for hearing objections to the issuance of bonds, pro- ceedings ~B8 was postponed until Monday evening August ll, 19S0. ORDINANCE NO. An ordinance regulating traffic upon the business streets of the City of South San Francisco repealing all ordinances inconsistent herewith was introduced by Council- man Lloyd, had its first reading and was laid over to come up under the regular order of business at the next regular ~eeting of the Council. Claims in the amount of $1,J14.09, were next presented to the council for payment, The claims having been audited by the finance committee Councilman Tibbetts moved they be paid.The motion was seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried: J.
