0F SOUTH SAN PRANCISCO HELD MONDAY EVENING,
March 2nd, 1951.
The regular meeting of the City Council was held in the City Hall, Monday evening,
March 2nd, 1931, at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p. m. by
Councilman Jos. P. Quinlan, Mayor of South San Francisco.
In the absence of Daniel McSweeney, City Clerk, Reese Z10yd was appointed to act
as Clerk pro tern.
Roll Call
Roll call found the follOWing members of the Council present, to-wit:
Councilmen V. Boido, R. Lloyd, M. Minucciani, R. Tibbetts and Jos. P. Quinlan
The reading of the minutes o~ the two previous meetings were dispensed with.
Co~mnunications were received from Rudolph Petrocchi for the position of traffic
officer and from John Jos. Hanlon for the position of either police officer or
traffic officer. Applications placed on file.
A commuuication was received from Assemblyman Harry ~. Parkman acknowledging re-
ceipt of Resolution of the City Council favoring Bill No. 86, stating he would
give same every consideration. Communication filed.
Hanson Bros. petitioned the Board to move the house situated at 419 Grand Avenue
to the alley on Lot 22, Block 12~.~ Permission Granted.
Joe Shapiro applied for permission to alter the building of C. O. Sullivan, 317
Bayshore Highway, at an estimated cost of $JO0.00, said building to used as a
fruit store. Permission granted.
The monthly reports of the Fire Chief, Chief of Police, City Judge and Building
Inspector, were presented, read and accepted.
A con~nunication'was received from the Leag~e of California Municipalities asking the
City Council to favor Senate Bills Nos. 52 and 53. These bills are designed to
protect cities, counties and other public corporations and their officials in damage
suits for injuries to persons or property resulting from defective or dangerous
condition of public streets, buildings or works. C~uncilm~n Boido introduced a
resolution favoring said Senate bitl~mad requested a copy be sent to Assemblyman
Harry L. Parkman. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all the
members of the Council, to-wit:

Noes, Councilmen None Absent. Councilmen None

-Mr. King of the Special Site Sign Co. appeared before the Council asking that a
uniform license fee be charged on billboards, that is a. charge of so much per square
foot instead of the yearly license fee of $20.00. He was advised that the Board
would take the matter under advisement.
In the matter of the petition of the residents of Peck's Sub. the City Clerk was
instructed to write to the State Highway Commission asking them if they would con-
struct sidewalks, curbs ~nd gutters on the west side of Bayshore Highway from Linden
kvenue to Randolph Avenue.
The City Clerk was instructed to write a letter to ~he Owner of Lot 13, Block
High School Park, ~sking him to repair the sidewalk in front of said lot.
Claims in the amount of $523.27 were next presented for payment.
The claims having been audited by the finance committee, Councilman Tibbetts
ordered same b.e paid. The motion was seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly

There being no further business Councilman i Lloyd moved to adjourn until
the next regular meeting, Monday, March 16, 1931, at 7:30 o'clock p. m.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Tibbetts and regularly carried.
