The regular meeting of ti~e c~!ty council of the City of South ~an Francisco was lleld in the city hall ~onday evening, 1~ Cth~lgZ1. The ~eeting u~as called to order ~t ?;Z0, o'clock p.m. by councilman Joseph O.Quinlan, ~yor of South San Francisco. ~{OLL Cf~LL. Roll' call found the following memb~rs of the council present,t:~-wit;- Councilmen, ¥.Boido, E.I,[inucciani,E.Lloyd, and Joseph P.q~uinlan. Absent, Councilman, E.Tibbetts. The minutes of t!:e previous r:~eetiug v~'ere read. There being no errors or omissions they were qpproved as read. A conm:unication was received from C-ertrude Schultz deeply thanking the South San Franc- isco Fire Department and the Council of South San Francisco for the great effort made to save her son's life at the South San Francisco Hospital by the fire department of this city on the night of Yovember ££nd,19~0. The letter was received wit?. the axpreciation of the Cit$~ Counc and tlc fire department, and the city cl~-rk instructed to :~?ply, acknou~led5ing the receipt of the comr:mnication. The Italian .~merican Athletic Club requ~sted permission to hold a three day celebratior. September 5,6 and ~th including Labor ~ay: next. Permission granted. .'k resolution was introduced by Councilman Lloyd leasing the South San Francisco baseba~ grounds,grand stand and a portion of the city park to the South San Francisco Baseball Club from the 4th day of k~ay,19S1 to the Zlst day of December,19Z1, for a consideration of ~)l.00. Engineer ~assen stated the condition v~as caused by the fil!ins of the Southsrm Pacific Com~any in constructi~ spur tracks,etc. ~.~ayor Quinlan requested t]~e entire co:ncil,engineer and cit~,~ attorney to meet s~ith hir~ at his o~.~ce at ~ p.m. Tuem~y the 5th. ~nst. L~yor Qulnlan stated that Zuperv~or Thomas L zc~ey had done wonderful u~ork for the city in re?airing Orange Avenue and th~ baseball grounds, and suggested a vote of thanks be extended him for h~s good services. ~h= c~uncil was unanimous in voting the thanks and the cl'.~rk was reque~ed to couvey tLeir tha~.~ to ouperv~sor Hickey for his John F.Zager submitte~ a claim for ~.80 , a charge agai]~st his yroperty for the clea~ of weeds,stating be has maintained a flou~'~r bed there.
