A regularly adjourned meeting of the city council of the City of South San Francie~ was held in the cit:, hall Wednesday n~orning,~ay 13%h,. 1951. This meeting was called to order at l0 o'clock A.M. by councilman Joseph P.Quinlan~, ~,~yor 'of South San Francisco. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following members of the city council present,to-wtt;- Counctlmen,R. Tibbetts ,M. Minucciant, Joseph. P. Quinlan. Absent, Councilmen, V.Boido and R.Lloyd. The reading of the minutes of the.previous meeting was dispensed with. A commUnication was received from the South San Francisco ~V01unteer Fire Departmen' requesting permission to hold their annual dance in Fraternal Hall,Saturday evening,May 16th, 1931. Permission granted. G.Carl 'Weller,Chairman, Court of Honor, Troop .F0, Boy Scouts of America, requested permission 'to use the council chambers in the city hall for a meeting Wednesday evening, May 13th,19~l. Permission granted. The Southern Pacific ComPanY responded to the city's request to rer~ove a p01e of Western Union-Southern Pacific Companies situated on the south sade of Grand Avenue,west of Swift Avenue, which was interfering with traffic,stating they had remowed the same approximat, nine fee't distant from its. former location. Communication accepted and placed on file. A communication' was received from the War Department stating application had been made by the American Dredging Company for a permit to dredge a certain area in the South San Francisco Channel in front of the W.P.F~ller Company, and asked if any persons had any object There .being n~m~,~by the city council of the City of South San Francisco the communioati, was ordered placed on file. A resolution o~dering the ab~tement of weeds was introduced by Councilman Ntnl~cei&! and adopted by the vote of the councilmen present,to-wit-; Ayes,Councilmen, R.Tibbetts,M. Attest Daniel McSweeney City Clerk A resolution ordering the abatement of weeds was introduced by councilman Tibbetts and adopted by the following votes, Ayes,Councilmen, M.~inucciani, R.Tibbetts,Joseph P.Qui~ Noes,Councilmen.None. Affidavits of the posting of notices to destroy weeds were submitted by Inspector Beatty. City attorney C~leberd stated the ~outhern Pacific Company wished permission to c~ Cedar Avenue. 0n motion by Councilman Tibbet~s, seconded by councilman Minucciani the matter referred to the city engineer. Mayor Quinlan stated Fire Chief Welte had invited~the city council to attend fire department inspection Friday~evening, at ?;30 o'clock p.m. £coe~ted.
