In the absence of Mayor ~-uinlan, councilman Mtnucciani moved that councilman Reese Ll¢ be elected to act as Mayor pro tern. The motion was seconded by councilman Tibbetts and regula~ ~arried. 1,~ayor pro tern Reese Lloyd called the meeting .to order at ?;~0 o'clock p.m. ROLL CAT~. Roll call found the following members of the council present,to-wit;- Councilmen,V.Botdo,R.Lloyd,M.Minucciani,R.Tibbetts. Absent, Mayor Joseph P.Quinlan. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Therebeing no errors or omissions, ~ounc!lman Minucciani moved they be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by councilman 2tbbetts and regularly carried. A communication was received from J.P.Allen,a regularly discharged soldier, requestiz Dezmission to solicit for and sell piCtures in the'City of South San Francisco. Permission gr~ The Pacific Gas & Electric Company requested permission to open a trench in the N.W. corner of ~aple.A~enueand Second Lane to replace.~$' of ~" inch gas main. Referred to counc~ zibbetts and permission given. Soft drink licenses were granted the Penla~'~g Company, Ernest Bonalanza,0.Cortest, Ermelinda ~rani, Christ Stephans,s. The Fire Chief als0 submitted an annual report covering the happemings and doings of the fire departmentfrom Janus 'st,to December 31st,1931. All reports were accepted as read. A resolution ~as introduced by Councilman Tibbetts appropriating the sum of $25.00 pe month for a period of six months toward the expenses of the County Charter~Study Committee. Th resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the council present,to-wit;- Ayes ,Councilmen,V.Boido ,R.Llo~d, M.~inucciani ,R.Tibbetts. Noes ,C ounci tmen ,None. On motion by Councilman Minucctani, seconded by councilman Boido, action on proceedin Fo.?4,the proposed installation of electroliers on Grand Avenue,between Spruce Avenue and th6 Mission Road was postPoned until ~,~rch 7th,1932. The proposed ordinance against tke distribution of handbills,referred to City Attorne Coleberd,will be taken up at the next meeting of the council. Yayor pro tem Reese Lloyd stated the Business 2,[en's Association is gathering ~ata con Lng the introduction of an ordinance affecting peddling without license, for the protection of business men of the city. Claims in the amount of $2182.8~ ~were next presented to the council for payment. On motion by councilman Minucciani,seconded byCouncilman Tlbbetts and regularly carried the cl were ordered paid.
