HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1934-08-20184 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY ,AUGUST' 20TH, 19~A. The regular meeting of the city council of~ the City of South San Francisco was hel~ in the city hall Monday evening,August 20th,19g~. In the absence of Mayor Reese Lloyd Councilman I~inuccimni moved that Councilman Joseph P.Quinlan be appointed Mayor pro tern. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tibbe~ts and regularly carried. Councilman Quinlan then took the chair and called the meeting to order at ?;Z0p.m, ROLL CALL. RolI call found the following members of the city council present; Councilman,M.Minucciani,R.Tibbetts and Joseph P.Quinlan. Absent, Councilmen, V.Boido and Rees~ Lloyd. The minutes of the three previous m~etings were read. There being no errors or omissions they were approved as read. An application was received from the $oCiedad Mutualista Mexicana "MORELOS", reques~ting permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall,Saturday evening,September 15,19J4, from 8 p.m. to 2 A,M., to celebrate the 124th annivarsary of the Independence of Mexico. Permission granted. A .communication was receiw~d fro~ C.W.Bowman,recording Secretary of the SauMat~o County ~e~eration of Improvement ClUbs and Associations,~requesting the city council to refrain from raising any~money fron any source to pay obligations arising from delinquency under the~lgl5 act. Comnunication ordered placed on file. Mr. Aaron Stankevich, music school teacher appeared before the city council with a request that.hi~ business license bo classified at the same rate as general business licenses, $10 per annum. Request granted. A written request was made by the Bank of~South San Francisco for the payment of the sum of $841.?0, delinquent Street improvement bonds under series "K~',Nos. 8 and 9. Councilman Minucciani introduced a resolution of the City of South San Francisco directing the payment of the bonds on the damand of the Bank of South San Francisco. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the city council present,as follows;- "K' to ~en.~und. Ela?sen and City Councilman Tibbetts were instructed to look into the matter of the petition of property owners in Seventh Lane, who requested that a light be placed there. Claims in the amount o$1247.~re next presented to the city council for payment;- Ayes, Councilmen, M.Minucciani,R.Tibbetts and Joseph P.~uinlan. Noes, Councilmen,None. There being no further business before the board Councilman Minucciani moved to adjourn until the next regular meeting, Tuesday,September 4th,19~A,at ?;80 o.'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tlbbetts and regularly carried.
