HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1935-06-10 REGULARLY ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTh SAN FRANCISCO, HELD MONDAY,JUNE 10,1~35. A regularly adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisc( was held in the city hall, lvlonday evening, June 10,19Z~. This meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock p.m. by Mayor Reese Lloyd. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all members of the council present, as follows;- Councilmen,V.Boido, R.Lloyd, J.F.~ger, M.Minucciani,R.Tibbetts. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors or omissions they were approved as read. August Chelini applied in writing for a business license to re-open a gasoline station at 412 Bayshore Highway. On motion by councilman Boido,seconded by councilman Tibbetts and regularly carried the application was granted. The Town Skeet & Gun Club applied for a permit to conduct a gun club in ~arcel two, Zone "J",south of the San Francisco Water Land and East of Tanforan Avenue. On motion by Councilman Boido seconded by Councilman Minucciani and regularly carried-the application was gr~nted. A communication was received from Piombo Brothers, acknowledging the receiDt of a statement from the City of South San ~rancisco in connection with damages reported sustained to the property of ~s. Garcia,96 Randolph Avenue, stating the matter had received the company' attention. Accepted and filed. J.B.Bourdien, contractor of San Mateo,applied for permission to make certain alter- ations in the Sartolou property at 472 Grand Avenue. ?Permission granted. ORDINANCE N0.184. An ordinance amending Ordinance No.160 of the City of South San Francisco entitled, "AN ORDINANCE .REGULATING THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION 0F DOG RACING TRACKS IN THE CITY 0~' S0~TH SAN FkANCISC0 AND PR©VIDING FOR LICENSING OF THE SAME",oassed and ado; by the city council of the City of ~outh San Francisco on the ~th day of July,1932, had its second reading and was adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San Francisco by the follc ing vote ;- Ayes, Councilmen,V.Boido, R.Lloyd, ~oMager~ M.I~inucciani,R.Tibbetts. Councilman Tibbetts introduced a resolution aWarding the contract to improve Grand Avenue, Linden Avenue and a portion of Railroad Avenue, to Union Paving ComDany, a corporation~ in the full amo'~nt of $§,971.75. The resolution was adopted by the vo~es v~f all the members of the city council, as follows;- Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido,R.Lloyd, J.F.Mager, M.Minucciani, R.Tibbetts. Noes, Councilmen,None, Absent, Coumcilmen,None. Attest Daniel McSweenay, City Clerk. Entered in Book of Resolutions, Vol.2, at page No482. .RESOLUTION ORDERING ABATEliENT 0F WEEDS ,1935. A resolution ordering the ~batement of weeds in th e City of South San Francisco, and callin~ for bids to be opened on June 24th,193~, for doing the work, was introduced by councilman Boido, and was passed and adopted by the votes of all the members of the City Counc~ as follows; Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido, R.Lloyd, J.F.Mager, M.Minucciani,R.Tibbetts. Noes, Councilmen,None, Absent, Coumcilmen,None. Attest Daniel McSweeney City Clerk. Recorded in Book of Resolutions, Vol.2,at pages .478~to 481. The motion was seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried. At 8.15 o'clock p.m. I~ayor Reese Lloyd ordered a recess of l0 minutes. The council reassembled at 8;25 o'clock, and on roll call the following members answered;- Councilmen, V.Boido, R.Lloyd, " J.F.~ger, " ~. ~iinuc c iani, R. Tibbe tts. Mayor Lloyd stated the council had a~reed t~ the exoend~ture of $Z20 for salaries for playground instructors. On motion by Councilman..Tibbetts, seconded by Councilman Mager, and regularly carried, the following named ladies were appointed instructors in the playgrounds for the lO weeks summer vacation;- Doris Wolley, Ida Whitehouse, Edna ~pangler, Elizabeth. L1affei. The salary of each for Zhe period would amount to ~80.00. The application of Clark's Graater Shows for permission to exhibit in South San Francisco June 18 to 2Z,inc, was, on motion by Councilman L~inucciani, seconded by Councilman Mager, denied. Chief of police Louis Belloni reported the gate had been set up at the Rice Hull industry, as required by the City Council. Moyor Lloyd instructed the City Clerk to notify all heads of de~artments to file a budget of estimates of their proposed expenditures for the ensuing fiscal year, not later than the first meeting in July. There being no further business before the board councilman ~Iinucciani moved to adjourn, until the next regular meeting, Monday, June 17th,19Z~, at 8.o'clock P.~.
