The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the city hall, Monday evening, June 17th,1935. The meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock p.m. b~' Nmyor Reese Lloyd. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following named members of the council present;- Councilmen, R.L~oyd, John F.Mager, M.~nucciani, R.Tibbetts, Absent, Councilman, V.Boido. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. On motion by councilman Tibbetts, seconded by Councilman l~inucciani and regularly carried the minutes were approved as read. An application for a l~mch countez license was received from Steve Balopulos for th, northwest corner of Miller & Cypress Avenues. ~eferred to Health Officer McMills for sanitary inspection. ,, , Jesus ~oya, secretary of the ANAH~AC society of South San Francisco, requested permission to hold a dance June 22nd,19~5, from 8 o'clock p.m to I o'clock a.m. Permission granted. $~.00 accompanied the application, for extra police service· A petition containing twenty-one names of residents, property owners and citizens of the Town of Baden,South San Francisco,was presented to t~e City Council, requesting that th~ owner of the manure pile at the De Phillippi Mushroom Farm in their vicinity, be required to remove the same from the district, stating tbRt it is a nuisance and a menace to health. ~s.Louise Gottelli and Mfs.Leech and Mr. Guissppi Rossi of that section of the city Eave detailed statements of trouble caused by flies, nats, mosquitos, and odor eminating from the manure pile. City Health Officer ~cMills was called in to state his view of the matter. He stated he had called in the Health ~'epartment of the State of California and inspected the place and concluded the ~resence of the ~anure ~ile is a nuisance,but, according to the State Health Officer, not a menace to health. M~yor Lloyd asked City Attorney Coleberd if any city ordinance covered the abtement nuisances o£ this character. The city attorney stated there was no ordinance covering this sort of nuisance, but an ordinacne could be passed which would suppress them. He was instruct~ hy the mayor to draw up an ordinance to this effect. ~Jayor Lloyd instructed the city health officer to work in conjunction with the city attorney to frame a suitable measure. Dr.~cI~lills was instructed to notify ~r. De Philli~pi to remove the o£fensive nuisan( immediatel~nd Chief of Police Belloni was requested to assist the doctor to carry out instru¢ Under the head of unfinished business Engineer Kla~ses reported he had not yet completed the estimate to fill in the depression in Pine Terrace, near Maple Avenue. UnGer the head of new business Attorney John F.Davis of Burlingame appeared be£ore tl ~ity Council, in company with Mr. 01mo of the 01mo Draying Co. and requested the city council ~ reconsider rescinding the permit to 01mo Draying Co, to locate certain inflan~nable m~terials in the warehouse of the California Iron Yards. Permission had been given the draying company to ~move the materials there, but on petition of numerous p~'o~erty owners in the vicinity the permit was revoked. The matter was laid over till the July meeting of the council, with advic~ from ~yor Lloyd to the draying company's representative to interview the petitioners and re~ them to withdraw their names from the ~etition, if they had no objections. There being no further business before the board Councilman Minucciani moved to adJou until Monday evening, June 2~th,19ZS, at eight o'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tibbetts and regularly carried.
