HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1936-03-029 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CI~ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTE SAN FRANCISCO, HELD MONDAY MARCH 2nd, 1936, The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the city hall Monday evening, ~arch 2,1936. The meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock p.m. by Mayor Reese Lloyd. R0 LL C ALL. Roll call found all members of the council present,as follows;- Councilmen, V.Boido,R.Lloyd, J.F.Mager,M.Minucciani, R.Tibbetts. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors or omissions they were approved as ready on motion by councilman Tibbetts,seconded by councilman Minucciani A communication was received from the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, requesting permission to open a trench in Miller Avenue,west of Eucalyptus Avenue, for the purpose of replacing a portion of gas main. Referred to Councilman Tibbetts and tine desired permission granted. A communication was received from John R.Skeggs, District Engineer, Division of Highways,State of California, accepting and approving of the additional streets of major importance submitted to the State by City Engineer Klassen, for the City of South San Francisc 6p~lication@ for positions on th? ~pri~ election board were received from Alice Crowell anG vera Gsel£. Applications accep~eG anm ordered placed on file. E.W.Stephens, General Manager of the Interstate Junior Livestock and Baby Neef Show submitted a ~equest to the city to decorate the streets for the annual show as the city has done in the past~ the decorations and flags to be in place not later than the 3rd,of April, the show beginning on April 5th,and ending April 9th,1936. The monthly reports of the Chief of Police, City Judge,Building Inspector,Fire Chief, Health Officer and City Clerk for the month ending February 29, were submitted and accepted with the thanks of ~ayor ~loyd for officers' promptness in attending to this duty. RESOL~TI©~ml ACCEPTING DEED FR0~ CALIFORNIA ~ATER SERVICE C0~ANY. Councilman Tibbetts introduced a resolution of the City of South San Francisco accepting a deed from the California Water Service conveying an. easement or right of way for the construction or maintenance of a drainage conduit,channel or camal to confine ~he waters of Colma and Baden Creeks. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the city council, as follows;- Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido,R.Lloyd,J.F.~ager,M.~inucciani,R.Tibbetts. Noes, Councilmen,None. Absent, Councilmen,None. Attest Daniel NcSweeney City Clerk, ~ecorded in Book of Resolutions, Vol.3,at page ~6. The deed of easement accompanied the resolution. Claims in the amount of $1~81.~ were next presented to the council for payment;- So. The motion was seconded by councilman Minucciani and regularly carried. Under the head of unfinished business t~e matter of awarding the contract to supply implements and labor on the Colma and ~aden Creeks project was laid over till the next meeting. City Attorney Coleberd reported he would give an opinion at the next meeting on the right.to a ~efund of automobile tax to J.~arcia,as requested by the California State Auto Association.
