CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, HELD MONDAY
APRIL 6, 1936.
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco was held in t he city hall Monday evening, April 6, 1936.
The n~etingw as called to order at 8:00 o'clock p. m. by Mayor Reese
Lloyd.
ROLL CALL
Roll call found all members of the council, present as follows:
Councilmen V. Boido, J. F. Mager, M. Minucciani, R. Tibbetts, Reese
Lloyd
The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors
or omissions they were approved as read.
A communication was received from Italian Catholic Federation asking
permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall, Saturday evening, April 25, 1936.
On motion by Councilman Minucciani, seconded by Councilman Mager, and regularly
carried, the permit was granted.
A communication was received from the Santo Christo Society to hold a
dance in Fraternal Hall Saturday evening, May 9, 1936, a parade to the Catholic
Church on Sunday morning, MAY 10, and a dance Sunday afternoon from 2 o'clock p.m~
to 6 o'clock p. m., also asking the board to have the city flags placed on Stand
Avenue from May 7 to May ll. On motion of Councilman Minucciaui, seconded by
Councilman Boido, and regularly carried the permit was granted.
A communication was received from the Italian American Activities Club
asking permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall, April ll, 1936. On motion of
Councilman Minucciani, seconded by Councilman Boido, and regularly carried the
permit was grant ed.
A communication was received from Giuseppe Uccelli, 1055 Grand Avenue
asking that two street lights be installed on the 01d Mission Road, off Grand
Avenue. The matter was referred to CounciLman Tibbetts with power to act.
A communication ~as received from the San Francisco H~bc~ Line Board
advising the Council that the meeting scheduled from March 25, 1936 was post-
poned to a later date. The communication was placed on file.
A coK~nunication was roceived from the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce
calling a meeting for April 10, 1936 at the Burlingame City Hall to take up the
matter of rapid transit of the peninsula. The letter was laid over for a change
in date as April l0 was Good Friday.
A communication was received from Pacific Gas & Electric Co. asking
permission to open a trench in the crossing of Baden and Spruce Avenues for the
purpose of replacing a gas main. The matter was referred to Councilman Tibbetts.
An application for a business license was received from E. M. Turner
for permission to engage in printing at 202 Grand Avenue. On motion regularly
made and seconded the permission was granted.
Au applicationw as received from Angelo Ghiorsi for permission to move
a house from the front to the rear of Lot 18, Block 128 and add i Bedroom and
dining room; also application from Serafino Barbagelata to build a garage on
S. 25' of Lot 23 and N. 12~' of Lot 24~ Block 129. On motion regularly made and
seconded the two application were laid over for further consideration.
The monthly reports of the Chief of Police, City Judge, Fire Chief,
Building Inspector, City Clerk and Health Officer for the month ending March
1938 were submitted. On motion of Councilman Mager, seconded by Councilman Boido
the reports were accepted and placed on file. Mayor Lloyd thanked the officers
for their promptness in rendering these reports.
Councilman Minucci~ni introduced a resolution accepting the offer of
Paul Flores to pay the City of South San Francisco $189.50 on account of damages
done to the police car. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all
members of the council~ to-wit: .

The claims having been audited by the finance connnittee, Councilman Minucciani
moved they be paid. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tibbetts and re-
gularly carried.
There being no further business Councilman Mager moved to adjourn
until Tuesday evening, April 7, 1936, at 7.00 o'clock p. m. The motion was
seconded by Councilman Tibbetts and regularly carried.
