The regular meeting of the cit)r council of the City of South San Francisco was held · ~, l~t~, 1936 in the city hall, I'.{onday evening:, J~me ~ ' . The meetings was called to order at 8 o'clock,p.m, by Mayor D.W.Ratto. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all members of t~'~e city council ::present, as follows;- Councilmen, V.Boi. do, A.J.Eschelbach, J.F.!{ager, ~f..}..linucciani, D.W.Ratto. The minutes of the previous meetin,Z were read. There bein[,: no errors or omissions they were approved as read. A coPnnunicatio~'~ was received from the South San Francisco Chamber of Commerce , stati it is reported that silt from the hills is being washed into Co,ma Cree~-: Sasin at the rate 50,000 cubic yards per year, and resz~ected to as3ertain what prosress the county orf;anization has made toward preventin2 t]:',.e .erosion. The Ch~nber also ~tated they were advised, that certai Lawnsdale residents d~p raw sew~'e into Co~a ~;reek Chan~el, and that was~ain~s from the hog ranches in the hills find their way into the creek bed. Th_e City Clerk was instructed to the Pla~-~nin6 Co:~ission of the county advisin~l them of the report and also to Dr. ~ans,Co~tN l[eatt!:~ Officer, statin:c the local healt~ officer wou]_d assist in everTf way w_~..~n the county authorities to abate the nuisances re~orted. The local Ch~ber also reco~edned that t]:e c~ty council appoint a conmittee to confe with the Public Utility Comi~sion of San Francisco to ascertain what provisions will be made in the New San Francisco Rapid Transit Pro~urmm to handle Penimsula traffic. The appointment of school children supervisors at the rgquect of Principal Kleemeyer was laid over till the ne:~t meet~_n.~. Under the head of new business Councilman Minucciani moved that the salary of Street Swe.eper N.Mede,-~hini terminate June first until such time as he is able to return to work. The motion was seconded by Cozmcilman Eschelbach and re~ularly carried.. Under the head of Good a Welfare, Mr. Gwin Campbell appeared before the city council and stated it was impossible to ~et ~ood parking space in the downtown district of this city to do shooping on account of the merchants' cars be~n~ parked alongside the curb all day.
