A regulsrl[ adjourned meeting of ~e Cit~ Council o£ the City of South San Francisco was held in the City Hall, Monday evening, August 18th,1938. This meeting was called to order at V;30 o'clock p.m., by Mayor AoJ.Eschelbach. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following members of the City Council present,as follows;- Councilmen, A.J.Eschelbach, M.MXnucciani,D.~.Ratto,Rod Tibbetts, Absent, Councilman, V.Boido. Councilman Boido appeared after roll call. The reading of the minutes of be two previous meetings was dispensed with. A communication was received from the Clerk of the Board of Supervi~ors in answer to this citY's letter notifying them that bids for the proposed project of cleaning Colma Cr and channels would be opened Monday evening, August 99, 1938, at 8 o'clock p.m., and that ~ this city expects the county to sponsor 90% of the cost. The communication requested~the c to inform Clerk Augustus of the Board of Supervisors the result of the bidding before 10 o A.M. on Tuesda~ morning, August 23,1938, and to hold a meeting of the City Council on Tuesd evening, August 23,1938, to receive the findings of the Board of Supervisors on the amount money they will allot as their share of the cost of cleaning the creek. The City ~lerk was instructed to reply stating that the city is agreeable to the requests. ~n ordinance creating a city planning commission for the City of 8outh San Francisc was introduced by Councilman Tibbetts, had its first reaxiing and was laid over to come up the head of regular business at the next meeting of the. City Council. Referring tb the proposed bond issue for a recreation center and buildings and a swimmlmg tank,City attorney Coleberd additional publication is required to the effect the all details pertaining to the projects are in order in the minutes and resolutions affect the same. He oa21ed upon Architect Reidy to verify that all his work in connection with ~ projects is done correctly and ~o his satisfaction, such as the resolutions and the applt tion to the federal government. Mr. Reidy stated it was, and the amount of the estimate $187.000 was correct to complete the~:work. On question 0y the City attorney Mr. Reidy ss the present plans and specification could be utilized if the government reduced the amou~ the requested allottment, by cutting out some of the buildings. RES0LUTION-'C~---6??, Thereupon Councilman Mlnucciani introduced a resolution of the City Council of th~ City of South San Francisco ealli~ a special election to vote for bonds in the sum of ~ $113,000 for for the construction, and Completion of recreational center buildings and swimming tank. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the member of the City Council, as follows;- ·yes, Oouncllmen, V.Boido, A.J.Eschelbach, M.Minucciani,D.W.Ratto,Rod Tibbetts. Noes, Councilmen,None. Absent, Councilmen ,None. Attest Daniel McSweeney, City Clerk. Recorded in Book of Resolutions, Vol.3,at page 181. Mr. Tony Molini , flower gardener of Commercial Avenue appeared before the Counc~ with reference to the grade made alongside his gardens by the So.S.F.Land & Improvement Company. He stated that if provisions for controlling the winter rain waters are not ma, his land would be overflowed and his business rendered useless. City Attorney Cole~erd explained that the city is in no way liable for the'situation, legally, and that the bee! thing~for Mr. Moltne to do was to take the matter up with the land company. The City Co~ was in full sympathy with him and will endeavor to induce the land company to make some changes to prevent the overflowing of his grounds. There being no further business before the O~uncil, Councilman Boido moved to adj, until Monday evening, August 22,1938,at eight o'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Co: man Tibbetts and regularly carried.
