HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1938-09-21REGULARLY ADJOURNED ~dEETING OF THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD WEDNESDAY EVENING SEPT- E~'~iBER 21, 1938. A regularly adjourned meeting of the city council of the city of South San Francisco was held in the city hall Wednesday evening September 21, 193~. The meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock p. m. by ~ayor A. J. Escehlbach. Roll call found all members of the council present as follows: Councilman V. Boido, Rod Tibbetts, A. J. Eschelbach~ D. W. Ratto~ M. Minucciaui The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. The Mexican Drum and Bugle Corps requested permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall October l, 1938 and also on November 26. On motion by CounciLman Tibbetts, seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried pe~aission granted. Councilman Minucciani introduced a resolution of the city council of the city of South San Francisco awarding the contract for excavation of Channel of Colma Creek to L. C. Smith at the prices named in his bid as follows: Excavation of channels $.06 per cubic yard; moving material for spoil bank (0.035) per cubic yard. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all members of the council as follows: Ayes, Councilmen V. Boido, A. J. Eschelbach, Rod Tibbetts, ~. ~inucciani, D. W. Ratto Noes, Councmlmen None ABsent, Councilmen None Attest: Daniel McSweeney, City Clerk By Elizabeth 0ttenfield, Deputy Recorded in Book of Resolutions Vol,3 at page 191 Councilman Boido introduced a resolution of the city council of the city of South San Francisco submitting to the qualified electors their choice of various sites in said city for the location of the recreation center building and the swimming tank at the special election September 2V, 1938. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all members of the council as follows: Ayes, Councilmen V. Boido, Rod Tibbetts, A. J. Lschelbach, D. W. Ratto, M. Minuccian Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Councilmen None Attest: Daniel McSweeney, City Clerk By Elizabeth 0ttenfield, Deputy Recorded in Book of Resolutions Vol.3 at page 192. Councilmen ~'~inucciani and ilatto stated they voted yes on the resolution with the under standing that the recreation center building and swin~.~ing tank are located where the majority of people want them. Mayor Eschelbach stated t~mt Willie ~[inucciani would like to have the use of the Scout House at Orange Avenue Park for drum corps practice and to keep their drums. He would like to have screens put on the windows and lights installed. CounciLman Tibbetts said the matter of the lights would be attended to. On motion by Councilman Minuccian seconded by Councilman Ratto and regularly carried permission was granted. City Attorney Coleberd asked permission to p~rchase " a set of books~ D~cQuillan on ~unicipal Corporations" at a cost of around ~85.00. On motion by Councilman Ratto seconded by Councilman ~dinucciani and duly carried permission was granted. There appearing no further business before the council, Councilman Boido moved to ad- Journ to Monday evening October 3, 1938, at 8 o'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Councilman Rattb and regularly carried.
