P~rsuant to call and maiver of notice.of which the following is a copy; The undersigned members of the city council of the ~ity of SoUth San FrancisCo hereby call a mpecial meeting of said city council to be held in the council chamber in the city hall of said ~ity on the 10th day of October, 1941 ,at the hour of 8 o'clock P.k. for the purpose of acting upon a proposition of protesting against a liquor license at No.340 Grand Avenue,in said city;an~ we hereby waive notice of said meeting and consent to the transaction 2herea~ of all s~ch business' as may regularly come'before said meeting. Councilmen. ~ city A special meetinE of th~'council of t~e Cit~ of South San Francisco was held in the council Chamber in the City Hall on Friday,OctOber 10,1941, There were present the following councilmen;- ~V.Boido,Reese'Lloyd, D.W;Ratto. Absent, Councilmen,Rod Tibbetts,George W.H~lston. The meeting was called to order by D.W.~atto,who was selected by the members of the council present to act as ~ayor pro tempore. Be reason of the absence of the c~ty clerk and the deputy city clerk V.Eoido was selected to act as clerk pro tempore. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. Councilman Eatto,acting as ~ayor pro tempore, stated that the purpose of holding the meetiag was to protest to the State Board-of Equalization against an on sale beer license to ~irginia Newray,at 340 Grand Avenue,the place com~onl~ known as the "Steel Bowl". A resolution protesting against licensing the sale of intoxicating liquor at said place was th then read. Upon motion by councilman Lloyd,seconded by councilman Boido and regularly carried.the resol- ution was adopted. Said resolution was recorded in Book of Resolutions, Vol.3, at page 2~.
