Elder, Adolph Sani, Joseph Bracco, Emilio Cortesi None The meeting was called to order at 8:10 p. m. by Mayor Sani. City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting of January 15, 1951 to all councilmen, Mayor Sani asked if there were any errors or omissions. There being none, the minutes were approved as submitted. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Bracco, that the bids for the sale of Sewage Disposal Bonds, Series B, be opened. This motion was regularly carried, Bids were submitted by the following concerns: Bank of An~rica N. T. & S. A. American Trust Co., R. H. Moulton & Co., Blair, Rollins & Co. Kaiser & Co., California Bank, Paine, Webber, Jackson & Curtis Weeden & Co., Dean Witter & Co. Awarding of the bid was laid over to Wednesday. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Boido, that the bids for the con- structing of the Spruce Avenue Extension storm drain be opened. This motion was reyularly carried. The following bids were submitted: Name The Lowrie Paving Co., Inc. M & K Corporation Frank W. Smith, Individual Chas. L. Harney, Inc. Sanders Construction Co. L. C. Smith Co. Huettig, Schromm& Bennett R. A. Farish Total Bid $35452.50 26930.22 26474.75 29162.00 28242.95 32688.60 24431.23 23177.25 Awarding of the contract was laid over until the next regular meeting February 5, 1951. Communication was received from Chief of Police Belloni requesting that he be fur- nished with the name of one applicant on the eligible list for the position of Police Officer. This communication was ordered filed. Communication was received from the Personnel Board advising that the following men were on the Police Officer Eligible List: John H. Schultz David Calcote John T. ?awson Jack Jones Charles Johnston However as John H. Schultz and Jack Jones had been called into the service, the Personnel Board was certifying the following men as being eli~b~in the order set up: 1. David Calcote 2. John T. Pawson 3. Charles Johnston This communication was ordered filed. Communication was received from Albert Silva, ~umane Officer, tendering his resig- nation effective January 31, 1951. On motion of Councilman Bracco, seconded by Councilman Cortesi and regularly carried, the resignation of Humane Officer Silva was accepted. The City Manager advised that the San Bruno Pound Man would help out until such time as a successor to Mr. Silva was appointed. Mayor Sani thanked Mr. Silva for his work as H~nane Officer and wished him success in his new job. Mayor Sani proclaimed the month of February as "REGISTRATION FOR CIVIL DE?ENSEMONTH". He asked the press to publicize same. A number of residents from Sterling Terrace were present and complained of the drain- age system in that area. A petition signed by twelve families was filed with the City Clerk. City Manager Larwood stated he was endeavoring to contact Mr. Oddstadt of the Sterlin? Corporation to go into this matter. Mr. Larwood stated he would go over the ground Tuesday morning. The matter was referred to the City Manager and the Works Engineer for investigation. On motion of Councilman Cortesi, seconded by Councilman Elder and regularly carried, the meeting was adjourned to Wednesday, January 31, 1951 at ~:30 p. m. Time of ^djournment - 8:50 p. m.
