ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Charles K. Elder, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi Absent: Councilmen Victor Boido, Joseph Bracco CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 4:55 p. m. by Mayor Sani. SERIES B BOND SALE RESOLUTION NO. 1626: Councilman Elder introduced a resolution accepting the bid of American Trust Company, R. H. Monlton & Company and Blair, Rollins & Co., Inc. for $300,000.00 par value Series B Bonds. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the council present. RESOLUTION NO. 1627 S.P. COMPANY AGREEMENT CROSSING BADEN BRANCH: Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution authorizing the execution of a license agreement between the Southern Pacific Co. and the city, covering a sewer line crossing on Baden Branch right of way. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the council present. RESOLUTION NO. 1628 S.F. WATER DEPT. AGREEMI~qT: Councilman Elder introduced a resolution authorizing the execution of a revo- cable permit between the San Francisco Water Dept. of San Francisco and the city, covering outfall sewer. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the council present. RESOLUTION NO. 1629 AGREE~ENT ~YiTH SAN FRANCISCO WATER DEPT.-SPRUCE AVE: Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution authorizing the execution of a revocable permit between the San Francisco Water Dept. of San Francisco and the city, for the purpose of constructing a roadway at Spruce Avenue Extension. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the coun- cil present. RESOLUTION NO. 1630 CIVIL DEFENSE AGREEMENT SAN MATEO COUNTY: Councilman Elder introduced a resolution "MAKING THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO A MD~BEH OF THE JOINT CITIES AND COUNTY CIVIL DEFENSE PLANNING BOARD OF SAN MATEO COUNTY AND DESIGNATING SAID BOkRD AS THE DULY H~POWE~ED AND AUTHORIZED AGENCY OF SAID CITY IN THE PLANNING AND OPERATION OF CERTAIN FIELDS AND PHASES OF DISAST~ PREPAREDNESS AND CIVIL DEFENSE". This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the council present. RESOLUTION NO. 1631 HELEN SIEBECKER: Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution expressing the thanks of the city council for the services rendered by Helen Siebecker as a member of the Recreation Commission. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the council present. RESOLUTION NO. 1632 S.P. CROSSING SAN BRUNO: Councilman Elder introduced a resolution objecting to proposed railroad over- head or underpass at San Bruno and San Mateo Avenues.* This resolutidn was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the council present. U-TURN ORDINANCE: An ordinance was presented prohibiting U-turns at }~ple and Lind~ Avenues at the intersection of Grand Avenue. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Council- man Cortesi, that this ordinance be read by title only to be considered as the first reading. This motion was regularly carried. City Clerk then read title of ordinance--"AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING VEHICLES FROM MAKING A U TURN AT THE INTE~ECTION OF GRAND AVENUE ~TH MAPLE AVENUE AND AT THE INTERSECTION OF GRAND AVENUE ~TH LINDEN AVENUE, IN TUE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCIS00". HUMANE OFFICER KINCANON: Motion was made by Councilman Cortesi, seconded by Councilman F2der, that R. H. Kincanon be appointed as Humane Officer, effective January 30, 1951 at a month- ly salary of $275.00. This motion was regularly carried. ROAD TO GARBAGE DUMP: Councilman Cortesi stated the garbsge company wanted to know what the city would do toward fixing the road from Butler Avenue to the d~nnp site. After some discussion, it was decided the city could do no work on streets or rcads that are not dedicated. CEMETERY LOCATION: Mayor Sani stated the government engineers had been surveying the area around Avalon Park for addition to the Golden Gate National Cemetery. As the city council was not in favor of this area being used as a cemetery site, the city manager and city attorney were instructed to prepare the necessa~; protest to be made to our Senators and Representatives. ADJOURNMENT: On motion of Councilman Cortesi, seconded by Councilman Elder and regularly carried, the meeting was adjourned to Monday, February 5, 1951 at 8 p. m. Time of Adjournment - 5:30 p. m.
