Absent: Councilman 'Emilio Cortesi
Councilman Cortesi arrived at 5 P. m. by Mayor Sani.
The meeting was called to order at 2:50 p. m.
City Attorney Coleberd advised he bad filed complaint for condemnation on
certain property owned by Mr. Wilms, and suggested that warrant be drawn in
favor of the County Clerk for ~3500.00 as a deposit for immediate possession
of this property. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Boido,
that the Clerk be authorized to draw a check for ~3500.OO in favor of the
County Clerk, same to become the deposit for an order for immediate posses-
sion of the land as described in complaint, "People of State of California
Against Wilms". This motion was re.~_~ularly carried.
Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Bracco, that repayment be
made to the U. S. Government covering monies advanced for plan preparations
for the sewage treatment plant in the amounts of $2500 and $7500. This
motion was regularly carried.
Communication was received from the Works Engineer submitting a Construction
ProMress Report and a Distribution of Construction Costs Report for the
Joint Sewage Disposal Flant for the cities of South San Francisco and San
Bruno, and recommending that a progress payment be made to M & K Construction
Co. in the amount of $37,236.12, allocated $30,381.28 to South San Francisco
and $7,052.62 to San Bruno. Councilman Bracco moved, seconded by Councilman
Elder, that the M & K Construction Co. be paid ~37,236.12 as a progress pay-
ment as recom~.ended by the ~orks Engineer, and that San Bruno be billed for
their portion or ~7,052.6~. This motion was regularly carried.
Communication was received from the Planning Commission reco~ending the
issuance of a use permit to the Gimble Brothers Candy Factory. Motion was
made by Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Boido and re~larly carried,
that the recommendation of the Planning Commission be accepted.
An ordinance prohibiting vehicles from m~king a U-turn on Grand ~%venue came
up for the second reading. Motion was made by Councilman Elder, seconded
by Councilman Boido and regmlarly carried, that this ordinance be read by
title only as the second reading. City Clerk then read title of the ordi-
nance--"AN ORDINANCE YROHIBITING V~ICLES FROM MAKING A U TURN AT THE INTER-
SECTION OF GRAND AVENUE ~'ffTH MAPLE AVENUE AND AT THE INTH~SECTION OF GRAND
AVED~E ~qITH LINDEN AVFNUE, IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO". This ordi-
nance was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Victor Boido,
Charles K. Elder, Adolph Sani, Joseph Bracco, Emilio Cortesi; Noe~, Council-
men, None; Absent, Councilmen, None.
On motion of Councilman Bracco, seconded by Councilman Elder and regularly
carried, the meeting was adjourned to Tuesday, February 13, 1951 at 2:30 p. m.
