HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1951-10-18PlA CE: TIME: ROLL CALL: CALL TO ORDER: MINUTES: CITY MANAGER APPOINTMENT: ADJOURNMENT: ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1951 Council Chambers, City Hall 8p.m. Pr es ent: Absent: Councilmen Victor Boido, Charles K. Elder, Adolph Sani, Joseph Bracco, Emilio Cortesi None The meeting was called to order at 8:20 p. m. by Mayor Sani. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. Councilman Elder moved that Mr. Emmons McClung be appointed City Manager for the City of South San Francisco, effective November 1, 1951, at a salary of $800 per month. This motion was seconded by Councilman Bracco and was carried by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Victor Boido, Charles K. Elder, Adolph Sani, Joseph Bracco; Noes, Councilman Emilio Cortesi. A number of people present at the council meeting talked on the appointment of a city manager and his duties. It was suggested that %he matter of district representation on the council be placed on the ballot for a decision by the people. After much discussion, motion was made by Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned to November 5, 1951 at 8 p. m.
