Elder, Adolph Sani, Joseph Bracco, Emilio Cortesi None The meeting was called to order at 8 p. m. by Mayor Sani. City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting of Feb. 18, 1952 to all councilmen, Mayor Sani asked if there were any errors or omissions. There being none, the minutes were approved as submitted. Communication was received from the Planning Commission asking if something could be done about low flying planes from San Francisco Airport. Motion was made by Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried, that this matter be referred to the City Manager and City Attorney. Resolution was received fr~n the Planning Commission recommending denying variance permit to Hillside Manor Corp. to divide two combined parcels into three lots. Motion was made by Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Bracco and regularly carried, that the recommendation of the Planning Commission be accepted. Communication was received from Chief of Police Belloni recommending the appoint- ment of Jim Petroff as Special Officer at Lindenville. Motion was made by Council- man Elder, seconded by Council~n Boido and regularly carried, that the appointme~ as made by the Chief of Police be confirmed without remuneration from the city. Communication ~s received from the Bayshore Construction Co. submitting application for a building permit to construct a warehouse on lots 6 & 7 Blk. 140. Motion was made by Councilman Elder, seconded by CoLmcilmau Boi~o and regularly carried, that permit be granted provided same meets with all building code requirements. Communication x~as received from the No-Betas requesting permission to hold a dance at the Windbreaker Clubhouse on April 19, 1952. Motion x~as made by Councilman Bracco, seconded by Councilman Cortesi and regularly carried, that permission be granted.. Communication was received from the Santa Cristo Society requesting permission to hold their celebration and fiesta on May 10th & llth, and also that the flags be put out for the celebration. Motion was made by Councilman Elder, seconded by Council~n Boido and regularly carried, that permit be granted. Application for a business license for Ralph's Auto Repair, 113 So. Linden Avenue, was submitted by Ralph R. Lingseh. Motion ~s made by Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Bracco and regularly carried, that license be granted provided all building code requirements and fire regulations are complied with. Application for a business license for the E1 Rancho Grande, 204 Lt~ Avenue, was submitted by Abel C. Parraz. Motion was made by Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried, that license be granted provided all Police and Health regulations are complied with. Communication was received from the Recreation Commission reco~nending that the name of the Elm Court Recreation Center be changed to the Helen E. Siebecker Memorial Center. On motion duly made. seconded and regularly carried, this com- munication was referred to the City Attorney for the necessary resolution. Communication was received from the Division of Highways advising that proposed traffic signal improvements at Orange and E1 Camino Real had been approved, and enclosing agreement covering same. Motion was made by Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried that the Mayor be authorized to sign the agreement. Communication was received from the American Legion, Bernard McCafferyPost No. 355 requesting that something be done to correct conditions in Lindenville. This com- munication was referred to the Housing Authority. Communication was received from the Bernard McCafferyPost No. 355, The American Legion, commending the council for its action taken on the Sing Sheng matter. This communication was ordered filed. Claims in the amount of $21829.94 were submitted by the Finance Committee. On motbn d~lymade, seconded and regularly carried, claims as submitted were ordered paid. An ordinance repealing Ord. ~51 fixing salaries of the Treasurer, Clerk, Marshall and Recorder of the City of South San Fr~ncisco~ was introduced and read in its entirety as the first reading. An ordinance fixing the salary of the Treasurer at $1200.00 per annum, payable monthly, ~.~s introduced and read in its entirety as the first reading. RESOLUTION NO. 1746 STREET BONDS S0. LINDEN AVENUE: RESOLUTION NO. 1747 APRIL 8TH ELECTION: FRANK ESERINI PERSONN~ BOARD: TRAFFIC SIGNALS BRENTW00D: STERLING TERRACE C 0NDITIONS: FRANK DE MARCHI: AP~MAN ON NEWSPAPER THROW-AWAYS: ADJOURNMENT: Councilman Boido introduced a resolution providing for the issuance of street improvement bonds, prescribing the denominations of such bonds and the interest coupons attached covering South Linden Avenue. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the council. Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution providing for holding a general municipal election on April 8, 1952. This resolution was adopted by the uriah, imous vote of all members of the council. Mayor Sani submitted the name of Frank Eserini for appointment as a member of the Personnel Board. Motion was made by Councilman Elder, seconded by Council- man Bracco and regularly carried, that appointment of Frank Eserini to the Personnel Board as submitted by the Mayor, be confirmed. Councilman Elder asked what was being done to install traffic signals in Brentwood. Works Engineer Randlett stated this was in the hands of the Division of Highways and he would follow up on same. A resident of Mayfair Village asked what had been done with reference to con- ditions in Sterling Terrace. City Manager McClung advised that this matter had been gone into with all concerned. Frank DeMarchi addressed the Council and said the prostitution in his locality should be stopped immediately. The Mayor stated that same would be stopped if it was going on. Mr. Ap~man suggested that something be done to curb the printing and distri- bution' of a certain sheet which made unfair remarks concerning various citizens. City Attorney Coleberd stated he would go into this matter if Mr. Ap~man would submit data on same. On motion of Councilman Bracco, seconded by Councilman Elder and regularly carried, the meeting was adjourned to Monday, March 10th at 4 p. m. Time of Adjournment - 8:40 p. m.
