M. The meeting was called to order at 4:56 P. M. by ¥~yor Smith~. Present: Councilmen Andrew Rocca, Francis Lucchio, Emilio Cortest~ Richard Gam]eu and Telford Smith. Absent: None. RESOLUTION NO. ~1 ~ 6 PALOU VITJAGE ABANDON- ORDINANCE NO. 356 ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT: ~-/~ 7 INDUSTRIAL SEWERS Ak~ PUMPING STATIONS: Mayor ~mith asked City Attorney Lyons for the matters before the City Council. City Attorney Lyons explained that the first matter concerned the resolution regarding the disposition of the buildings in Palou Village. After a brief explanation by City Attorney Lyons regarding the changes made from the manner in which it was first drawn~ and presented at the last regular meeting and a brief discussion by the members of the City Council and City Manager Mc Clung, Councilman Rocca introduced "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco approving the proposal of the Public Housing AdminiStration, a Federal Agency, with respect to the removal of temporary housing structures from Palau Village~ a temporary- Naval Housing Project within said City." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes: CounCilmen Andrew Rocca, Francis Lucchio~ Emilio Cortesi, Richard Gamlen and Telford Smith. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mayor Smith then asked City Attorney Lyons if there was any other matter, to which he replied that there was the second reading of the Amena-~nts to the Zoning Ordinance; remarking that the first reading took place at the prior meeting. After a brief discussion, City Attorney Lyons stated that there could be a motion to the effect that the Ordinance be introduced by title and the read:.ng be valved. He also explained that a roll call vote could then be taken on the adoptior_ of the 0rdinauce. Councilman Lucchio moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried that the reading be waived and the Ordinance be introduced by title. City Attorney Lyons then introdm~ed the Ordinance by title: "Au Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 353 entitled "Zoning Ordinance of the City of South San Franctsco"~ adopted A~g~t lC, 1954". Councilman Gamlen Voted uo on the motion of 0o~ncilman Lucchio, stating he had no{. sufficient time to 'study this. Roll call vote on the adoption of the Ordinance was as follows: Ayes: Councilmen ~ndrew Rocca, Francis Lucchio and Telford Smith. Noes: Councilmen Emilio Cortesi and Richar~ Gamlen. Absent: None. Mayor Smith then c~nted on a telephone call he had received from a Mr. Gardner regarding the notice calling for bids on the bonds to be issued for the Industrial Area ~r and Pumping Stations. Mayor Smith remarkmd that Mr. Gardner stated he woald be present at this afternoon's meeting to explain his views on the matter if he wsre given permission. Mayor Smith lku~her remarked t~at he had informed Mr. Gardner that should he desire he could so appear. It was agreed by the Council to await Mr. Gardner,s arrival and listen to him.
