City Clerk ~DJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY, DECEMBER 12, 1955 Council Chambers, City Hall 5p.m. The meeting was called to order at 5:14 by Mayor Smith. Present: Absent: Councilman Andrew Rocca, Francis Lucchio, Emilio Cortesi, Richard (;allen, Telford Smith None Mayor Smith announced that at the time the last meeting was adjourned, the Director of i~zblic Works, City Mmnager and City Attorney had been instructed to meet with the property owners of Spruce'Avenue to negotiate some form of agreement. He at this time asked City Manager McClung for an explanation of that meeting. The City Manager stated that the meeting had not been held with all of the property owners, but that he had spoken to Mr. Coopman, who was acting in the capacity of spokesman for the group. He then explained from a type- written copy of an agreement which had been submitted to him, relating the conditions which would be favorable to the property owners, and which in- cluded some of the requirements desired of the City. Lengthy discussion followed, at which time the following spoke: Mr. Coopman, who commented on the feelings of the property owners concerning the subject matter; Mr. Cima of the Associated Pipeline Co., Inc. who remarked concerning the possibility of his being assessed for two open ditches; Mr. Gaudio, who spoke in behalf of the Mayfair Village property owners; Director of Public Works Goss, who explained on the map the drainage ditch, as well as the pipes to be installed; Mr. Manin, of the office of Wilsey & Ham, who remarked on the drainage of water from the areas outside those of Spruce Avenue; Mr. Hynding, property owner in the area, remarking on the location of the ditch in the rear of the property; Mr. Leo Ferko, property owner, also expressed his wishes for drainage of water to be in the rear of the property; Mr. Fred Benetti, who stated his agreeance with the comments of Leo Ferko and Norman Hynding. Further lengthy discussion took place, at which time members of the City Council, as well as the mentioned property~owners, Mr. Manin of~Wllsey & Ham, and Mr. Antonio Gaudio, attorney for the property owners of Mayfair Village, spoke. Also discussing the matter was Mr. Reint Lingeman of the San Mateo County Department of Public Health & Welfare. After lengthy discussion had taken place, Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Gamlen and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned and that the City Attorney be instructed to work out the arrangements with the contractor doing the improvement work on South Canal for a revision of the contract, and to present this information at the next council meeting.
