HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1958-04-03SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 1958 TIME: PLACE: CALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL: RESOLUTION NO. 2604 REQUESTING AID FROM THE UNITED STATES FOR DREDGING COLMA CREEK: COLMA CREEK EMERGENCY: ADJOURNMENT: RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, 11:00 a.m. Council Study Session Room - City Hall Tke meeting was called to order by Mayor Rozzi at 11:03 a.m. Present: Councilmen Andrew Rocca, Leo Ryan, Francis Lucchio, Emilio Cortesi and Mayor G. J. Rozzi C~%y Attorney Noonan stated that the minutes should reflect that since 24-Lour written notice had been given to every Councilman, the Waiver of No, ice was not required. He then stated that a resolution had been prepared for the only item to be considered by the Council today, naaely, the matter of the dredging of po:tions of Colma Creek to eliminate serious flood damage and instruct the C:=y Manager to make formal request in this regard. Afl=er brief explanation by the City Attorney, Councilman Ryan introduced: RESOLUTION OF THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DZTERMINING AND DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF REQUESTING AID FROM THE UNITED ST~-~RS OF AMERICA IN DREDGING PORTION~ OF COLMA CREEK IN ORDER TO ELIMINATE S~RIOUS FLOOD HAZARD, AND INSTRUCTII~G THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FORMA W~.~rEN REQUEST IN THAT REGARd'.. Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, CoA~cilmen Andrew Rocca, Leo Ryan, Fr&ncis Lucchio, Emilio Cortesi and G~ido Rossi. Noes, None. Absent, None. B=lef discussion followed concerning the emergency arrangements now being m;tde and taken concerning Colma Creek. Co'2ncilman Lucchio then moved, seconded, by Councilman Rocca and regularly car=led, that the meeting be adjourneC. Time of adjournment - 11:15 a.m. APPROVED:
