The meeting was called to order by Mayor Rocca at 7:46 p.m.
Present: Councilmen Andrew Rocca, G. J. Rozzi, Leo Jo Ryan and Patrick
Eo Ahern.
Absent: Councilman Emilio Cortesi.
City Attorney Noonan explained the first item 'for Council action at this
time which had to do with the second reading and adoption of the ordinanc~
concerning theParking District° After a brief explanation, he stated
that Council could adopt a motion waiving the detailed reading of the
ordinance and adopting it by the reading of title only. Councilman Ryan
moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern, that the detailed reading of the
ordinance be waived and that it be adopted by reading of the title only.
Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Rocca, Rozzi, Ryan and
Ahem. Absent: Councilman Cortesi. The title of the ordinance was then
read by the City Attorney as follows: "ORDINANCE DECLARING THE FORItATION
OF PARKING DISTRICT NOo I OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AS Al/ENDED,
DESCRIBING THE PROPERTIES TO BE ACQUIRED, THE WORK TO BE DONE, THE CITY
LANDS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO TO BE HELD~ USED AND TREATED AS
PARKING PLACES~ THE CONTRIBUTIONS WHICH ARE TO BE ~&DE BY THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, THE ESTIMATE OF THE GROSS AND NET REYENUES TO BE
RECEIYED IN SAID PARKING DISTRICT~ DESCRIBING THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF
BONDS TO BE ISSUED AND THE PERIOD WHICH THEY SHALL RUN, AND PRO¥IDING THE
LIMITS AS TO THE RATE OF AN AD VALOREM ASSESSMENT WHICH MAY BE LE¥IED
UPON ALL TAXABLE REAL PROPERTY WITHIN THE DISTRICT'~ after which Councilm
Rozzi moved, seconded by Councilman Ahem, that the ordinance have its
seoond reading and be adopted in accordance with the title as read. Roll
call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Rocca, Rozzi, Ryan and Ahern.
Absent: Councilman Cortesi.
City Attorney Noonan at this time asked if Council would take up an ord-
inance amending a previously adopted ordinance which had to do with the
rezoning of a parcel of property to P-1 commonly referred to as the Mazza
Property° He explained to Council that in the draft of the ordinance a
typographical error had been made and that the zonedparcel should have
read 32 instead of 5, although the resolutions of the Planning Co~ission
and previous Council action had accurately described this rezoningo He
then stated that Council could adopt the following motion concerning the
correction of the minutes: "Move that the City Council minutes of
May 4, 1959, be corrected so that the minute entry regarding amenc[~ent to
the Zoning Ordinance No. 353 - Mazzanti Property Public Hearing - on line
two shall read 'zone Parcel 32' instead of 'zone Parcel 5'". Councilman
Rozzi so moved, seconded by Councilman Ahem and regularly carried.
Councilman Ryan then moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern and regularly
carried, that the detailed reading of the ordinance be waived and that it
be introduced by the reading of title only. City Attorney Noonan then
read the title of the ordinance as follows: 'AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AMENDING AND CORRECTING ORDINANCE NOo 433 ENTITLED
'AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AMENDING ZONING ORDINAN(
NO. 353 AS AMENDED~ ZONING PARCELS HEREIN DESCRIBED PROFESSIONAL~ EXECUT]
AND RESEARCH DISTRICT OR P-1DISTRICT'"~ after which Councilman Ryan
moved, seconded by Councilman lozzi, that the ordinance be introduced.
Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Rocca, Rozzi, Ryan and
Aherno Absent: Councilman Cortesi.
Mayor Rocca then asked if anyone in the audience had anything they wishe¢
to offer. There being nothing, Councilman Rozzi moved, seconded by Coun-
cilman Ahern and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned to
August 3, 19590
