HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1970-08-10CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA NOTICE OF SPECIAL NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of California, of a special meeting called for Monday, August 10, 1970, at eight o'clock p.m. in the Council Conference ROOme City Hall, South San Francisco, California. The purpose of the meeting is to receive, consider, and vote on the following matters. Consent to the assignment of the painting subcontract for the swimming pool by C. N. Sturgis to Ken Sanders ~'Sons, in accordance with Government Code 4100 ET.SEQ., and particularly Section 4107 thereof. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ahern at 8=06 p.m. Present= Absent = Councilmen Patrick B. Ahem, Frank $. Bertucelli, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp None The City Clerk briefly explained the purpose of. the Special called meeting which concerned the assignment of the painting subcontract by C. N. Sturgls to Ken Sanders & Sons due to illness. The City Manager stated that due to a heart attack to C. N. Sturgis, he was not able to perform and that the second Iow bidder, Ken Sanders & Sons, were willing to do it for the same bid price. Councilman Borba asked if the award could not be given to some local contractor instead. Brief discussion followed at which time it was pointed out that the procedure the City was following was proper. City Attorney Noonan in response to Council's inquiry, stated that a motion could be adopted consenting to the assignment. Councilman Steinkamp so moved, seconded by Councilman Mammini. Motion as made and seconded was regularly carried. City Manager McKenzie then requested Council to adjourn to an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing employee wage increases. The Council then at 8~2 p.m. adjourned to an Executive Session for wage negotiation purposes, pursuant to Section 54957.6 of the Government Code.
