HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1971-01-05NOTICE OF SPECIAL STUDY MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of California, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco will hold a special study meeting Tuesday, January 5, 1971, at 2:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, South San Francisco, California. The purpose of the meeting is to review with Congressman McCIoskey the Army Corps of Engineers' and Wilsey and Ham's proposals regarding a Colma Creek project. Dated: December 28, 1970 SPECIAL STUDY MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD TUESDAY, JANUARY 5, 1971 TIME: PLACE: CALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL'; DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING COLMA CREEK: ADJOURNMENT: RESPECTFULLY SUBMI TTED, 2:00 p.m. Council Chambers, City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ahern at 2:05 p.m. Present: Absent: Councilm n Patrick E, Ahern, Frank J0 Bertucelli, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp None At this time, Mayor Ahern turned the meeting over to Congressman Paul N. McCIoskey to discuss and review the proposals by the Army Corps of Engineers and the firm of Wilsey and Ham with regard to the Colma Creek Project. Present were the following representatives: Congressman Paul N. McCIoskey Colonel C. Roberts, Corps of Engineers J. H. Steinberg, Corps of Engineers Lee Ham, Wilsey and Ham J. Barkley, Wilsey and Ham Victor Sanders, County of San Mateo City Staff present: Louis H. Goss, Director of Public Works Raymond Maxwell, Engineering Department Laurence Ross, Acting City Manager Salvatore Rosano, Chief of Police Augustine Terragno, Captain, Police Department John Noonan, City Attorney Arthur A. Rodondi, City Clerk Lengthy discussion then followed among the representatives listed, members of the City Council and those in the audience concerning the matter of Colma Creek and its solution. Upon conclusion of the discussions, Councilman Borba moved, seconded by Councilman Mammini and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned to Wednesday, January 6, 1971, at 5:00 p.m. for the purpose of touring the Magnolia Recreation Center concerning suggested repairs and corrections of deficiencies.
