HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1971-03-22NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of California, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco will hold a special meeting on Monday, March 22, 1971, at 5:00 n.m., in the City Council Conference Room, City Hall, South San Francisco, California. The Council will adjourn to an executive personnel session to consider the appointment of a City Manager and related terms and conditions of employment. Date: March 19, 1971 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY, MARCH 22, 1971 TIME: PLACE: CALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL: EXPLANATION OF PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: ADJOURNMENT TO CONFERENCE ROOM: ~-/~5~'~"0 RECALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL: REAPPOINTMENT OF MR. GALE DREISBACH AS CITY MANAGER: ADJOURNMENT: RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, 5:00 p.m. Council Chambers, City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ahern at 5:07 p.m. Present: Absent: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Frank J. Bertucelli, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren STeinkamp. None Mayor Ahern explained the purpose for which the meeting had been called after which Councilman Borba moved, seconded by Councilman Bertucelli and reguLl~arly carried, that the meeting be adjourned to an Executive Personnel Session. Council then at 5:08 p.m. went to the Council Conference Room for their Executive Personnel Session. The meeting was recalled to order by Mayor Ahern at 6:05 p.m. Present: Absent: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Frank J. Bertucelli, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp. None. Mayor Ahern at this time announced that the matter discussed was the Council's wish to rehire Mr. Gale Dreisbach as City Manager. Councilman Mammini moved, seconded by Councilman Bertucelli and regularly carried, that the City Council rescind its previous action in the hiring of Mr. Laurence Ross as Acting City Manager. Both Councilmen Bertucelli and Mammini congratulated Mr. Ross for his work in the capacity of Acting City Manager. Councilman Borba then moved that the City Council's previous motion in accepting the resignation of Mr. Gale ~Dreisbach be rescinded and that Mr. Gale Dreisbach be rehired as City Manager. Councilman Mammini then asked if this was to be effective immediately, to which was replied, "Yes." Mayor Ahern, under the question, stated that before voting, he would need more information concerning the reason for the resignation of Mr. Dreisbach. Councilman Bertucelli then seconded the motion. Brief discussion followed after which roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Frank J. Bertucelli, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none, Absent, none. Abstaining, Councilman Patrick E. Ahern. Mr. Laurence Ross was then instructed to contact Mr. Dreisbach and advise him of his being rehired. Councilman Mammini then moved, seconded by.'Councilman Borba and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned. Time of adjournment: 6:08 p.m.
