HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1971-08-17ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD TUESDAY, AUGUST 17, 1971 TIME: 5:00 p.m. PLACE: Council Chambers, City Hall. CALL TO'ORDER: Mayor Borba cai led the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Absent: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Frank J. Bertucelli, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp None PURPOSE OF MEETING: At the request of Mayor Borba, City Manager Dreisbach explained the purpose of the meeting after which Mr. Frank Gillis remarked that it was his understanding that the meeting was to be among himself, his representatives and the City Council. Discussion followed between Mr. Gillis and City Attorney Noonan concerning the pro- cedure that Council should follow concerning such a meeting in order that there would be no violations. Discussion followed concerning previously held meetings after which, there being no objections, Mayor Borba adjourned the meeting to an Executive Personnel Session to be attended by the Members of the City Council and City Manager. ADJ OU RNMENT: Time of adjournment: 5:17 p.m. RECALL TO ORDER: The meeting was recalled to order by Mayor Borba at 5:31 p.m. with all Council Members APPOINTMENTS TO MEET present at which time Mayor Borba announced the appointments of Councilmen Ahern and AND CONFER WITH Mammini, City Manager Dreisbach and City Attorney Noonan to meet and confer with Mr. EMPLOYEE GROUP: p- ~)~)~) Gillis and his employee group. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was then adjourned at 5:32 p.m. RECALL TO ORDER: 5% SALARY INCREASE GRANTED:"p.. 0 0 RESOLUTIOH NO. 5635 RATIFYING SALARY SCHEDULES FOR 1971-72 The meeting was recalled to order at 6:45 p.m. with all Council Members present at which time Mayor Borba anounced that the City would grant a 5% salary increase with no dental plan or increased retirement benefits. City Attorney Noonan explained the resolution which could be adopted by the City Council ratifying the raise when a reclassification had been obtained concerning the effect of the wage freeze after which Councilman Mammini introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION RATIFYING SALARY SCHEDULES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1971-72." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Frank J. Bertucelli, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. ADJOURNMENT: Councilman Mammini then moved, seconded by Councilman Steinkamp and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned to Monday, August 23, 1971 at 5:00 p.m. Time of adjournment: 6:46 p.m. APPROVED: RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, *The discussions contained in these Minutes are excerpts and not verbatim.
